Not ready to hang up his skates, Lubomir Visnovsky is headed back to Europe.
The veteran defenseman, who failed to catch on with Chicago after attending training camp on a PTO, has agreed to join KHL club Slovan Bratislava, per sport.sk.
Visnovsky, 39, has a long history with the Slovakian-based club -- prior to getting drafted he spent six seasons with the club and, during the lockout, appeared in 32 games for the club.
The decision to return home comes after a ’14-15 campaign in which Visnovsky appeared in 53 games for the Islanders, scoring 20 points. He also played in four of New York’s seven opening-round playoff games against Washington.
