The first set of Olympic rings for the Rio 2016 Games, a gift from London, were unveiled at Madureira Park in the Brazilian city on Wednesday night.
The rings weigh about four tons, are 25 meters long and situated near a waterfall, according to O Globo, which has video of the unveiling with fireworks and also reported Madureira Park will be one of three large areas in the city where the public can watch Olympic competition on big screens next summer.
The rings were on Tyne Bridge during the London 2012 Olympics.
