An interview between Matt Lauer and Michael Phelps, plus a parade of more than 40 Olympic athletes will be part of TODAY’s celebration of 100 days out from the Rio Olympic Opening Ceremony on Wednesday.
Lauer spoke with Phelps about his struggles and comeback for a potential fifth Olympics in Rio.
The TODAY plaza will be a festive beach party, with an athlete parade including Olympic champions Ryan Lochte, Gabby Douglas and Allyson Felix and World champion gymnast Simone Biles, among others.
Additionally, Bob Costas will check in live from Rio as he preps to host primetime coverage for a record 11th time.
The Rio Games Opening Ceremony is Aug. 5.
