DeAndre Yedlin is one of the brightest young American soccer stars, and after an excellent overall showing in the 2014 World Cup, the defender gained the attention of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

He was intriguing enough to the Spurs and manager Mauricio Pochettino extend an offer to Seattle Sounders with a $4 million transfer fee on the table.

The fee was accepted, but the Homegrown player’s exit to England is still unknown, whether it be right after the conclusion of this MLS season or in the coming summer.

“I don’t know about this yet, we need to analyze that,” Pochettino said, according to ESPN FC. “It is early to say whether it will maybe be in January or at the end of the season, for next season.”

Dealing with an abdominal injury, defender Kyle Walker has endured difficulty getting on the pitch, and the timeframe of his absence could affect the quickness of Yedlin’s move to London.

“We need to know how Walker is recovering to decide, but he [Yedlin] is another option. One option is that maybe in January we bring him here. At the moment it is too early to take a decision.”

Meanwhile, the Seattle native let media know that the decision lies upon Tottenham’s management.

“It depends on the situation,” he said to MLSsoccer.com. “I think if I’m still playing a lot with Seattle then it’s something I have to think about -- there’s no reason to have me go in.”

“Ultimately it comes down to what he [Pochettino] wants. He’s making the decision on when I come. Obviously he has confidence in me, but these guys have experience at this level.”
