At this point, what’s left to say of the way Sebastian Giovinco has terrorized Major League Soccer in his first season with Toronto FC? Using outrageous superlatives? It’s been done. Attempting t contextualize his gaudy statistics? He’s truly in a class of his own.

Last week, the “Atomic Ant” was up to his usual shenanigans — lots of scoring and the occasional assisting of goals. The 28-year-old bagged his second hat trick in less than a month in TFC’s 4-1 victory over Orlando City SC last Wednesday (second and third goals above and below), and assisted on Michael Bradley’s delightful team goal in a 3-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

For the season, Giovinco has 16 goals and 11 assists through 22 games played, which are numbers reserved for just two very specific groups: video-game players and Lionel Messi. He’ll go on to win the 2015 MLS MVP award — perhaps unanimously. His three goals and one assist in two games played last week are also good enough to land Giovinco his third MLS Player of the Week award of 2015 (it could be closer to 10, if we really wanted to).
