The news is out, and it’s not good for Paris Saint-Germain.
It won’t come as a shock to many, especially after viewing Neymar’s agony on Sunday against Marseille, but the French league leaders will be without their star for some time.

On Wednesday, PSG announced that Neymar will have surgery on his injured right ankle/foot in Brazil, which he hurt in a non-contact injury against the club’s rivals over the weekend.

There is no official timetable for the Brazilian’s return, however, Neymar’s father indicated on Sunday that he believes his son will miss somewhere between “six and eight weeks.”
The timing for the injury couldn’t be worse for the Parisians, who will face Marseille again on Wednesday in the French Cup, while preparing for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid next Tuesday.
PSG currently trails Real, 3-1, on aggregate in the Round of 16 clash.
