Despite appearing in all of the team’s Premier League matches last season, Juan Mata could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.

According to the Guardian, Mata isn’t likely to return to Manchester United next season, despite finishing third on the team with six Premier League goals. Everton is said to have emerged as a favorite for the 28-year-old midfielder.

Everton has reportedly put in a $22 million bid for the former Chelsea attacker.

With new manager Jose Mourinho taking charge, as well as the recent signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mata is reportedly unlikely to return to United.

The Spanish international played for Everton manager Ronald Koeman in his time with Valencia. Koeman was in charge there from 2007-2008.
