To help you out, here are the eight questions for Wednesday’s NBA games, along with my breakdown and picks.
1. MOST POINTS BY A PLAYER
Jayson Tatum, Zach LaVine, Nikola Jokic or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander?
With LaVine’s status being impacted by COVID, Jokic and Tatum seem like solid options here, while SAG is a sleeper. With Jaylen Brown back, I will fade Tatum and roll with the Joker, who is quietly top five in MVP odds.
Pick: Nikola Jokic for Most Points
2. CAVALIERS REBOUNDS VS. CELTICS
0-36, 37-40, 41-44, 45-48, 49-53 or 54+ Rebounds?
The Celtics have had some COVID and injury concerns this season and with Evan Mobley, the Cavs should be able to grab boards. Cleveland has continue to remain competitive and one of the best ATS teams in the NBA, so go with a semi-higher number.
Pick: Cavs 45-48 Rebounds
3. CELTICS POINTS VS. CAVALIERS
0-89, 90-99, 100-105, 106-111, 112-122 or 123+ Points?
Both these teams are normally Under squads, but with Jaylen Brown back, I like there to be points. Boston is much better when Marcus Smart is on the floor and facilitating, plus Brown gives them another All-Star level scorer.
Cleveland can score as well, so expect both squads to top 100.
Pick: Celtics 106-111 Points
4. RAPTORS ASSISTS VS. BULLS
0-17, 18-19, 20-21, 22-23, 24-25 or 26+ Assists?
If Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso play, I like the 0-17 assists. Chicago is one of the best defending teams in the league against opposing guards and with Fred VanVleet being the main distributor, aim for a lower number in general.
Pick: Raptors 0-17 Assists
5. BULLS POINTS VS. RAPTORS
0-97, 98-105, 106-109, 110-114, 115-121 or 122+ Points?
The Bulls are going to either fresh or rusty in the comeback, so this is one of the harder picks to make. I will aim for a median and pick 106-109 as 100-points is always in the cards for Chicago when Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan are on the floor.
Pick: Bulls 106-109 Points
6. TOTAL 3-POINTERS IN NUGGETS VS. THUNDER
0-17, 18-19, 20-21, 22-23, 24-29 or 30+ Three-Pointers?
These are two low-scoring squads but lately they have shot a ton of triples. Both teams combine for almost 74 three-point attempts per game in the last five and 26 makes. Take a higher number as both can hit around a dozen.
Pick: 24-29 Three-Pointers
7. CAVALIERS VS. CELTICS: WINNER AND MARGIN OF VICTORY
Cavaliers or Celtics? 1-2, 3, 4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 or 11+ Points?
I will more than likely attend this game and rooting for a Celtics win but Cavs cover, so take that advice how you will!
Pick: Celtics win by 3 Points
8. RAPTORS VS. BULLS: WINNER AND MARGIN OF VICTORY
Raptors or Bulls? 1-2, 3, 4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 or 11+ Points?
The Bulls could be a little rusty when they return to action, so back the Raptors here on what could be a surprise victory to some, but a good fade spot on Chicago.
Pick: Raptors win by 5-6 Points
