One of David Cutcliffe‘s assistants appears to be going back to his old stomping grounds at Ole Miss.
The Durham Herald-Sun, citing sources familiar with the move, reports that Duke offensive line coach Matt Luke will head to Ole Miss to take a job under new head coach Hugh Freeze. The school later confirmed the move.
“For a coach like Matt Luke to return to Ole Miss – a place where he is so loved and loves so dearly – is a home run for us,” Freeze said in a statement. “He is tireless recruiter and is a great representative of our university.”
The move makes the fifth assistant Freeze has grabbed since taking the job with the Rebels.
Luke has ties to the area as both a player (1995-98) and as a coach (1999, 2002-05 under Cutcliffe).
