Ray Guy Award watch list comes in at 23 players strong

Hey, at least they’re a bit selective relative to other awards.

Regardless, the Ray Guy Award became the latest to release its watch list, with a mere 23 players making up this year’s initial group. Included on the 2013 preseason list are four semifinalists from 2012: Florida’s Kyle Christy, Auburn’s Steven Clark, Marshall’s Tyler Williams and Iowa State’s Kirby Van Der Kamp.

The award has been given out annually since 2000 in honor of Ray Guy, the former Southern Miss and Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders great. Last year’s award went to Louisiana Tech’s Ryan Allen, the second year in a row he claimed that honor.
