And after all that, this is where it ends.
When Joe Wickline vacated his post as Oklahoma State’s offensive line coach to become Texas’ offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, a breach-of-contract suit practically followed him down Interstate 35 from Stillwater to Austin.
The dispute over whether or not Wickline called plays for the Longhorns, and the $600,000 riding on the answer to that question, was one embarrassing gaffe after another for Charlie Strong and his staff, and reportedly drove a wedge in between Strong and his former boss, Steve Patterson, who insisted Texas was not a party to the suit. The case was set to go to court in March but with Wickline now out of a job, the two sides have come to an agreement. According to the Associated Press, OSU’s lawyers notified a Stillwater judge it has dropped the suit.
Terms of the agreement were not immediately disclosed.
