WRIGHT’S CHARGES REDUCED FROM FELONY TO MISDEMEANOR

After reporting that USC cornerback Shareece Wright refused a plea agreement that would reduce his charges from a felony to a misdemeanor, but would still require jail time, a judge in San Bernardino County Superior Court reduced the charges from felony to misdemeanor anyway.Judge Douglas N. Gericke ruled that Wright’s actions at his friend’s going away party were “less violent to a significant degree,” than how a felony is described. Wright could still face time in jail but his attorney was optimistic that a plea agreement would be limited to community service or a fine. Wright certainly seems open to that as well."I’m willing to do something,” Wright said outside the courtroom. “I know I could’ve handled the situation better than I did. I put myself in that situation, exchanging words with the cops. I wasn’t completely innocent."With the felony charge dropped to a misdemeanor, Wright should be back in classes at USC.
