  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Aaron Judge went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Wednesday, powering the Yankees to a decisive 7-3 victory over the Athletics.
Judge’s ongoing struggles at the dish haven’t gone unnoticed by fantasy managers, but he managed to put together a couple solid at-bats in this one, taking Athletics starter Joe Boyle deep for a two-run shot in the opening frame. It was his fourth round-tripper of the season and first time leaving the yard since April 14. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar is going to emerge from his ice-cold start at some point, it’s just a matter of time.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
Ronald Acuña hit a solo homer while going 2-for-5 in an extra-inning loss to the Dodgers on Friday.
Acuña Jr. hasn’t shown a ton of power in the early portion of the season, but he came through in a big way with a game-tying homer in the eighth off Daniel Hudson in the eighth. That’s just the second roundtripper of the season for the reigning MVP, but it’s hard to fathom the power isn’t going to come from a player that swatted 41 homers in 2023.
  • ATL Third Baseman #27
Austin Riley went went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in a loss to the Dodgers on Friday.
Riley got Atlanta on the board with a solo homer in the first off Gavin Stone, and that’d be the last run they’d score with Stone in the game. Riley is now up to 17 RBI and three homers to go with a disappointing .725 OPS over 124 at-bats.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #50
Charlie Morton gave up two runs in six innings against the Dodgers on Friday while not factoring into the decision.
Morton continues his good run, but it comes without a win as Atlanta didn’t provide him the necessary run support. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.50 while scattering five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Morton didn’t look good in the middle of April, but the 40-year-old has been a very strong option outside of those two outings where he gave up 12 of the 14 runs he’s given up in 2024. He gets the Mets on Friday.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #71
Gavin Stone didn’t factor into the decision against Atlanta on Friday despite allowing just one run over six innings.
Stone was excellent, but the Dodgers blew a late lead to prevent him from picking up the win. The 25-year-old threw 58-of-86 pitches for strikes while fanning five and issuing just one walk. Stone isn’t missing bats at an elite level, but it’s tough to argue with the results thus far. He gets a tasty matchup against the Marlins next week.
  • LAD Center Fielder #84
Andy Pages went 4-for-5 with the game-winning single in the 11th inning to give the Dodgers a 4-3 win over Atlanta on Friday.
Pages put an end to that chapter, with the chapter being an 11-inning affair in this case. The rookie outfielder has his first ever four-hit game, and one of those was a walk-off single in the 11th off Jesse Chavez. Pages has looked the part and then some thus far, and is obviously worthy of roster consideration in redraft leagues.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #19
Cole Irvin allowed only a pair of hits over 6 1/3 innings Friday in the Orioles’ 3-0 shutout of the Reds.
It’s Irvin’s third straight scoreless start. His stint in the rotation figured to be a short one with Kyle Bradish and John Means on the IL to open the year, but he’s gained a reprieve with Grayson Rodriguez and Tyler Wells going down and he’s making the most of it, having gone 3-1 with a 2.86 ERA to date.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #46
Craig Kimbrel returned to action and earned a save on Friday, striking out all three batters he faced versus the Reds.
That’s quite the positive outing for Kimbrel after he blew a second straight save chance Sunday and then missed a few days with back soreness. He has a 2.92 ERA and a 20/6 K/BB ratio in 12 1/3 innings for the season.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #21
Hunter Greene blanked the Orioles for 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Friday.
Greene, who also pitched shutout ball last time out, lowered his ERA to 3.12. Still, the Reds are somehow 1-6 when he pitches this season, despite being 15-10 the rest of the time. Greene’s luck should even out at some point, and he seems like an every-week play in mixed leagues.
  • BAL First Baseman #32
Ryan O’Hearn went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer versus the Reds on Friday.
O’Hearn legitimately looks like one of the AL’s best hitters right now, no matter how ludicrous such a statement would have been a year or two ago. That he doesn’t play versus lefties limits his fantasy value, but it’s probably time for the Orioles to try him against southpaws.
  • SD First Baseman #9
Jake Cronenworth went 3-for-5 with a homer and two doubles in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Cronenworth swatted one of three homers for the Padres on Friday, with his being a solo shot off Slade Cecconi. Cronenworth has shown solid power to begin the 2024 season, as he’s up to six homers, nine doubles and a .516 slugging percentage through 122 at-bats. It’s certainly understandable to be skeptical considering that the 30-year-old hasn’t slugged above .400 over the last two seasons, but the results are awfully promising right now.
