  • DET Starting Pitcher #25
Matt Manning will serve as the Tigers’ 27th man for Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Manning will take the ball for the nightcap of Tuesday’s twin bill in Detroit. It’ll be his third big-league start this season as he’s gotten the ball a couple times in early-season doubleheaders. There’s limited streaming appeal here, but he might be worthy of a dice roll in extremely deep mixed leagues.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #36
Brewers recalled RHP Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville.
Myers provides Milwaukee’s overworked bullpen with some emergency length and could wind up replacing Joe Ross (back) in the starting rotation after he landed on the injured list. The 25-year-old righty holds a lackluster 5.29 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 17/9 K/BB ratio across 17 innings (four starts) this season in his big-league debut.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #41
Brewers placed RHP Joe Ross on the 15-day injured list with a lower back strain.
Ross departed Monday’s start against the Marlins with a lower back strain and winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. The hope is that he’ll only wind up missing a couple weeks. It’s Tobias Myers who has been brought up from Triple-A Nashville to take his spot on Milwaukee’s roster. The 31-year-old righty holds a respectable 4.50 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 35/16 K/BB ratio across 42 innings (nine starts) this season in his Brewers debut.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #44
Padres activated RHP Joe Musgrove from the 15-day injured list.
Musgrove returns from a two-week stint on the injured list due to triceps tendinitis to take the ball for Tuesday’s series opener against the Reds. The 31-year-old righty has compiled a lackluster 6.37 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 36/13 K/BB ratio across 41 innings (eight starts) prior to hitting the shelf.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #98
Padres optioned RHP Randy Vásquez to Triple-A El Paso.
Vásquez heads back to the minor to make room for Joe Musgrove to return from the injured list on Tuesday against the Reds. The 25-year-old righty allowed three runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Braves. He’s posted a lackluster 5.82 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 13/4 K/BB ratio across 21 2/3 innings (five starts) this season in his San Diego debut.
  • PHI Shortstop #7
Trea Turner (hamstring) progressed to on-field hitting and ran at 80 percent on Tuesday.
Turner hasn’t experienced any soreness or setbacks as he steadily ramps up baseball activities in his recovery from a left hamstring strain. The 30-year-old shortstop isn’t being intentionally rushed back, but he’s making swift progress and could return in a couple weeks, if not sooner.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #29
Yankees RHP prospect Clayton Beeter is dealing with shoulder discomfort.
Beeter landed on the minor-league injured list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier this week and has been shut down from throwing temporarily. It’s a pretty significant hit to New York’s starting pitching depth as he figured to be an option at some point later this summer if injuries were to strike.
  • SEA Shortstop #3
J.P. Crawford is leading off on Tuesday against the Yankees.
Crawford is back at shortstop and leading off on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium after sitting out Monday’s series opener following his activation for the injured list.
  • SEA Second Baseman #7
Jorge Polanco (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Yankees.
Polanco was available off the bench for Monday’s series opener in New York, so it stands to reason that he’s healthy enough to avoid a potential trip to the injured list. The 30-year-old second baseman has been out of the lineup for seven straight contests now due to right hamstring tightness.
  • SD Shortstop #2
Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds.
Bogaerts was forced to leave Monday’s game against Atlanta with injury, and he’s been diagnosed with shoulder inflammation. The 31-year-old will miss at least one more game, and he should be considered day-to-day at this point.
  • TEX Right Fielder #53
Adolis Garcia is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Phillies.
There was some talk that Garcia could return Tuesday from his forearm injury, but he’ll be out at least one more game. Derek Hill — who was called up from Triple-A Round Rock prior to the game — will get the start in Garcia’s absence. He should be considered day-to-day at this stage.
