  • LAA Relief Pitcher #58
Angels optioned RHP Davis Daniel to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Daniel has been shipped out ahead of Tuesday’s contest against the Phillies after making three relief appearances this season for the Angels.
  • CWS Third Baseman #44
Bryan Ramos (quad) will start a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday for Triple-A Charlotte.
Ramos landed on the injured list last weekend with a left quad strain and is only expected to require a minimum stay. He should be ready to roll later this week or early next week.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. (hip) will play five innings on Wednesday in a Rookie-level Arizona Complex League contest.
The plan appears to be for Robert to get a couple games in this week out in Arizona before heading out on an official minor league rehab assignment next week. The 26-year-old fantasy superstar has been on the shelf since early April due to a Grade 2 hip flexor strain that was expected to keep him sidelined for at least 6-8 weeks. Barring any setbacks, he should return at some point in early June.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #45
Reese Olson (hip) played catch on Tuesday without any issues.
Olson is still dealing with some relatively minor hip soreness, but still expects to make his next start on Saturday against the Blue Jays. There should be a final call on his status at some point later this week when he throws his usual between-starts side session.
  • COL Third Baseman #23
Rockies activated INF/OF Kris Bryant from the 10-day injured list.
Bryant returns to Colorado’s roster ahead of Tuesday’s showdown against the Athletics following a one-month absence due to a lower back strain. The 32-year-old has gotten off to an abysmal start at the dish this season, batting .149 (7-for-47) with one homer and zero steals in 13 games. He’s gradually faded into irrelevancy for fantasy purposes over the last few years with the Rockies.
  • STL Catcher #40
Willson Contreras (fractured forearm) has already had his cast removed.
The exact date is uncertain, but Contreras has been cast-less since at least last Friday, May 17. It may have been as early as May 11. “I’m really happy with how the process is going and how well I’m recovering,” Contreras said late last week. “The way I feel, I could say, it’s not going to be (until) the All-Star break. It could be earlier than that. I’m not going to say something that is going to get above the doctors’ opinion, but if you’re asking me how I’m feeling, I’m feeling great.” The Cardinals have yet to comment on Contreras potentially beating his All-Star week return projection, but it is now definitely within the realm of possibility.
  • COL First Baseman #12
Rockies optioned INF/OF Sean Bouchard to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Bouchard draws the short straw on Colorado’s active roster with Kris Bryant returning from the injured list ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Athletics.
  • COL Third Baseman #83
Rockies sent INF Julio Carreras outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Carreras was designated for assignment over the weekend and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 24-year-old infielder has been removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster, but will still remain with the organization.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #77
Luis Garcia (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday at Minute Maid Park.
Garcia isn’t expected to return to Houston’s starting rotation mix until sometime around midseason as he continues to recover from last May’s Tommy John surgery.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #65
José Urquidy (forearm) will make another minor league rehab start on Friday for Triple-A Sugar Land.
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters the hope is to build up Urquidy’s pitch count to roughly 80 in his likely final rehab tune-up outing. The 29-year-old righty should be ready to make his season debut at some point later next week.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #56
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Ronel Blanco will likely start on Sunday against the Athletics.
Blanco is currently serving an automatic 10-game suspension for violating the league’s illegal foreign substance rules, but he’s in line for a tasty matchup in his return against the struggling Athletics. Fantasy managers should prepare to get him back in their lineups later this week.
