  • NYY Center Fielder #24
Yankees activated OF Alex Verdugo from the paternity list.
Verdugo will return for the final game of a four-game series against Baltimore. The 27-year-old outfielder is on pace for his best OPS percentage since 2020 when he was with the Red Sox. He’s currently slashing .267/.358/.446 across 120 plate appearances this season.
  • HOU Center Fielder #10
Joey Loperfido is not in the Astros’ starting lineup for Saturday’s matchup against the Brewers.
Once again Loperfido finds himself on the bench with an opposing right-hander on the mound. He has hit well in his limited action — slashing .306/.359/.417 with a homer, five RBI and a stolen base in 39 plate appearances, though it has come with a troublesome 16/3 K/BB ratio. He could be at risk of heading back to Triple-A Sugar Land once Chas McCormick is ready to return from the injured list.
  • LAD Right Fielder #23
Jason Heyward is not in the Dodgers’ starting lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Reds.
After crushing a two-run homer in his return from the injured list on Friday night, Heyward is getting the day off on Saturday as manager Dave Roberts eases him back into action. The Dodgers will start Miguel Vargas in left field on Saturday while Enrique Hernandez holds down the hot corner once again in the absence of Max Muncy.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #51
Tyler Mahle (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Saturday at Globe Life Field.
Mahle is almost exactly one year removed from Tommy John surgery and continues his progression towards his Rangers debut. The 29-year-old righty inked a two-year, $22 million contract last December with the defending World Series champions and figures to be ready to return sometime around midseason.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher
Kumar Rocker (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Saturday at Globe Life Field.
Rocker is almost exactly one year removed from Tommy John surgery and is continuing to attempt to get his career back on track. The 24-year-old righty was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball just a few years ago, but has been derailed by injuries. He should be ready to pitch in minor league contests this summer, if not sooner.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #50
Kris Bubic (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start on Sunday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
It’ll be Bubic’s first outing outside of a trio of Rookie-level Arizona Complex League appearances earlier this month, since undergoing Tommy John surgery last April. The 26-year-old southpaw will presumably take a few weeks ramping up in the upper minors before he’s an option for Kansas City’s starting rotation mix. Fantasy managers should employ a wait-and-see approach, but he showed some encouraging signs last year prior to getting hurt.
  • NYY Left Fielder #22
Juan Soto went 4-for-4 with two homers and three RBI to power the Yankees to a 6-1 win over the White Sox on Saturday.
Soto blasted a solo homer in the first inning to put the Yankees on the board, his tenth of the season. He drove in another run with a single in the second, then went yard once again to lead off the fifth. A base hit in the eighth would make it a perfect day at the plate. It was the first multi-homer game for Soto as a member of the Yankees. The 25-year-old star outfielder is slashing .317/.414/.561 with 11 homers, 32 runs scored, 37 RBI, and four steals across 215 plate appearances.
  • NYY Right Fielder #27
Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and a walk against the White Sox on Saturday.
Stanton doubled in the first inning to drive in a run for the Yankees. He then homered off Brad Keller in the third before drawing a walk to reach for a third time in the fifth inning. The 34-year-old slugger is heating up along with the rest of the Yankees lineup. He’s now had multiple hits in four of his last five games, including three homers. Stanton is hitting .258/.309/.530 with 11 homers and 26 RBI across 162 plate appearances.
  • CWS Center Fielder #28
Tommy Pham went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored against the Yankees on Saturday.
Pham led off the game with a base hit off Luis Gil and came around to score on a double by Andrew Benintendi. It was the only run the White Sox could score as they were shut down through the rest of the game. Pham added a double in the second for his second hit of the game. The 36-year-old veteran outfielder is slashing .346/.386/.500 with two homers and two steals across 83 plate appearances.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #81
Luis Gil allowed one run with 14 strikeouts over six innings in a win over the White Sox on Saturday.
Gil turned in a dominant performance after a shaky first inning. Two base hits, a double, and a walk brought a run in to score and loaded the bases before Gil struck out the final batter to end the opening frame. He allowed just two more hits across five more scoreless innings, striking out a career-high 14 batters on 22 whiffs. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with an impressive 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 62/27 K/BB ratio across 49 innings. Gil is in line for a start against the Mariners in New York on Thursday.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #46
Brad Keller surrendered six runs -- five earned -- with four strikeouts over four innings in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday.
Keller gave up two runs in the first inning, including a solo homer by Juan Soto. The home run troubles continued with Jose Trevino and Giancarlo Stanton going deep for solo shots before Soto hit his second of the game in the fifth inning. Keller left a baserunner on with no outs in the fifth before his day was done. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 4.86 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and a 13/6 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings into a matchup against the Orioles in Chicago on Thursday.
