    Phillies recalled INF Kody Clemens from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
    Clemens is up with Trea Turner (hamstring) on the injured list. The 27-year-old Clemens will be a bench option for the Phillies while he’s on the active roster.

    Red Sox promoted starting pitching prospect Luis Perales to Double-A Portland.
    Depending on the scouting service, Perales is either ranked as the best or second-best pitching prospect in Boston’s system and one of their top 10 overall prospects. The 21-year-old had a 3.42 ERA across 26 1/3 innings (seven starts) with 46 strikeouts and just 10 walks. He will now try to keep up that strikeout rate at a higher level, but the 6'1" starter was one of the high-upside prospects who many thought would benefit from the Red Sox overhauling their pitching development system.

    Ketel Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in the Diamondbacks’ 6-0 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.
    Marte came into this one riding a 20-game hitting streak. He extended it to 21 games right away with a base hit in the first inning. Marte later took Ryan Yarbrough deep for a solo homer in the eighth inning. The 30-year-old second baseman is hitting .291/.339/.523 with 10 homers, 35 runs scored, and 27 RBI across 221 plate appearances.

    Christian Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a double, and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Dodgers.
    Walker led off the sixth inning with a solo homer off Elieser Hernández to extend the Diamondbacks’ lead. He later doubled in the eighth and scored on a passed ball. The 33-year-old first baseman is pacing right in line with his 2023 season, hitting .257/.358/.458 with 10 homers and 32 RBI across 215 plate appearances.

    Corbin Carroll went 1-for-5 with a triple and two RBI against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
    Carroll put the Diamondbacks on the board in the fifth inning, hitting a triple off Tyler Glasnow to bring two runs in to score. He then cross home plate on a wild pitch. The 23-year-old outfielder has put together a modest five-game hitting streak. Carroll has struggled mightily to start the season, slashing .191/.275/.282 with two homers, 21 runs scored, 16 RBI, and eight steals across 211 plate appearances.

    Ryne Nelson tossed five shutout innings with five strikeouts in a win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.
    Brandon Hughes had recorded the first two outs of the game as the opener. Nelson came in for the final out and shut down the Dodgers over five frames, scattering five hits and three walks with five strikeouts to earn the win. The 26-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 6.03 ERA, 1.83 WHIP, and a 28/10 K/BB ratio across 34 1/3 innings. His next outing should come against the Rangers in Texas next week.

    Tyler Glasnow allowed three runs with six strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
    Glasnow had worked around a pair of hits and an error through four scoreless innings before the Diamondbacks got to him in the fifth. A walk and a single put two runners on for Corbin Carroll, who brought both runners in to score on a triple. A wild pitch allowed Carroll to cross home for the third run. Glasnow would complete the frame and was done after five on 95 pitches. He struck out six. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 3.09 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and an 87/17 K/BB ratio across 67 innings into a start against the Mets in New York on Tuesday.

    Ryan McMahon went 2-for-6 with a two-run homer to lift the Rockies to a 4-3 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
    McMahon had knocked a single in the ninth, then came through in a big spot in the 12th inning. With a runner on in a tie game, he took Kyle Muller deep for a go-ahead two-run blast. The 29-year-old third baseman is hitting an outstanding .306/.383/.508 with nine homers and 29 RBI across 211 plate appearances.

    Elias Díaz went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer against the Athletics on Wednesday.
    Díaz put the Rockies on the board early with a two-run shot off Mitch Spence. It was all the Rockies would need in the victory over the A’s. He added a single in the third and a double in the fifth for a three-hit day. The 33-year-old backstop is hitting .322/.361/.466 with four homers and 23 RBI across 158 plate appearances.

    JJ Bleday went 1-for-5 with a solo homer against the Rockies on Wednesday.
    Bleday took Austin Gomber deep for a solo shot in the fourth inning, putting the A’s only run on the board. The 26-year-old outfielder is having a solid season at the dish for Oakland, slashing .247/.321/.454 with six homers and 19 RBI across 194 plate appearances.

    Jalen Beeks allowed one run in the ninth inning to blow the save chance against the Athletics.
    Beeks was summoned to close out the game with a one-run lead in the ninth inning. A single and a walk put a runner in scoring position with two outs before Zack Gelof knocked a base hit to drive in the game-tying run. Beeks was able to keep the game tied to send it to extras. The 30-year-old left-hander is now 4-for-6 in save chances with a 2.42 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 16/12 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings.
