The right-hander had allowed one run on three hits and a pair of walks over his 2 2/3 innings of work — but also left the bases loaded and will be responsible if those runners score as well. It’s likely that he would be heading back to Triple-A Las Vegas after Wednesday’s start anyways, but what remains unclear is whether or not he’ll require a trip to the injured list.

The 30-year-old right-hander refused his outright assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett from the Braves and will instead peddle his wares on the open market. Stephens posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and a 2/1 K/BB ratio over 3 1/3 innings in three appearances at the big league level this season.

No word yet on the potential corresponding move to get Loutos on the 40-man roster. The 25-year-old hurler has done a nice job in 13 appearances at Triple-A Memphis this season, registering a 1.72 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and an 18/9 K/BB ratio over 15 2/3 innings. Expect Cardinals’ skipper Oli Marmol to utilize Loutos in the middle innings.

Kim led off the fourth inning with a single off of Bryce Elder, swiped second base and scored on a two-run double off the bat of Fernando Tatis Jr. He then walloped a 393-foot (100.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Ray Kerr in the seventh inning that extended the Padres’ lead to 9-0. The dynamic 28-year-old is now hitting .213/.326/.372 on the season to go along with six homers, 22 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Profar started a rally in the opening inning by drawing a two-out walk off of Bryce Elder. He then rode home on Jake Cronenworth’s two-run blast. He then smacked an RBI double in the fourth inning that extended the Padres’ lead to 6-0 and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Xander Bogaerts. The 31-year-old outfielder has yet to cool off, and after his three-hit attack he’s now hitting .335/.422/.522 with seven homers, 31 RBI and three stolen bases on the season.

Cronenworth victimized Braves’ starter Bryce Elder in the opening inning with his two-out, 392-foot (101.3 mph EV) two-run blast that gave the Padres the early lead. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. On the season, the versatile 30-year-old is now hitting .275/.344/.485 with eight long balls and 30 RBI.

The 37-year-old right-hander gave up just two hits on the evening while allowing one base on balls. Only once did the Braves put a man in scoring position against him, and that was on Marcell Ozuna’s two-out double in the opening inning. He finished his night by retiring the final 13 hitters that he faced in order. Darvish got 14 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the night, posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He now boasts a 2.08 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and a 46/13 K/BB ratio over 47 2/3 innings through his first nine starts on the season. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he does battle against the Yankees on Friday.

Ozuna smacked a two-out double off of Darvish in the opening inning, but he never advanced past second base. No other Braves’ hitter would touch second base the remainder of the night against Darvish. Ozuna continues to power the Braves’ offense this season — slashing a robust .325/.400/.610 with 12 homers and 41 RBI through his first 42 ballgames.

The 25-year-old right-hander also issued three walks on the night while punching out three. After getting the first two outs in the opening inning, the Padres struck for three runs with two outs, including a two-run blast by Jake Cronenworth. Elder seemed to settle in a bit after that, but allowed four straight hits to start the fourth inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen. He got just eight swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night — six on his slider — while posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll carry a troublesome 6.46 ERA and 1.94 WHIP into Friday’s start against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Keller was obliterated in his start against the Yankees on Saturday, giving up six runs (five earned) over four innings — including four home runs. It’s not immediately clear who the White Sox will turn to in order to replace Keller in their rotation.

No word yet on what the corresponding move could be, or where exactly Vazquez will see his action on the Cubs’ infield, but we’ll know more on Monday. The 24-year-old has hit .270/.369/.409 with three homers, 11 RBI and one stolen base (in three attempts) over 38 games at Triple-A Iowa this season.
