  • CHC Second Baseman #2
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains absent from the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Pirates.
Hoerner will miss his third consecutive contest due to left hamstring tightness, but there’s been zero indication that he’s in jeopardy of requiring a trip to the injured list. There should be some clarity on his status at some point in the coming days, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #84
Marlins activated RHP JT Chargois from the 60-day injured list.
Chargois had been out since the spring with neck spasms. He’s one of the many relievers in the Marlins pen who are candidates to be traded before the deadline, but there is at least a slim chance he’ll stay with the club and wind up earning some saves over the final two months.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #67
Marlins optioned RHP Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Ramirez was demoted in spite of a 0.96 ERA and a 9/1 K/BB ratio in 9 1/3 innings. At least it’ll give him a leg up on being the next reliever recalled by the Marlins.
  • MIN Right Fielder #19
Twins optioned 1B Alex Kirilloff to Triple-A St. Paul.
Kirilloff got off to a strong start in April, but he faded quickly and was hitting .135/.207/.284 in his last 30 games. Edouard Julien has remained ice cold in Triple-A, so he’s unlikely to be the countermove here. That probably leaves Matt Wallner or Austin Martin. Wallner has turned things around lately, but Martin has the better Triple-A numbers and has more to offer defensively.
  • TEX Shortstop #5
Corey Seager with 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk to power the Rangers to a 3-2 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Seager made his return to the lineup on Wednesday, hitting second as the designated hitter. With two runners on base in the fifth inning, he put the Rangers on the board with a three-run blast off Walker Buehler to give Texas the lead. The three runs would be all the Rangers needed to pick up the win over Los Angeles. The 30-year-old shortstop is slashing .271/.362/.484 with 14 homers and 33 RBI across 254 plate appearances.
  • LAD Designated Hitter #17
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Rangers on Wednesday.
Ohtani put the Dodgers on the board with a solo homer off Jon Gray in the first inning. It was one of only two runs the Dodgers would score on Texas in the game. The 29-year-old superstar is slashing .311/.383/.587 with 17 homers, 51 runs scored, 44 RBI, and 15 steals across 300 plate appearances.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #39
Kirby Yates allowed one run in the ninth inning for the save against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Yates was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a two-run lead. He put two runners on with a hit and a walk with two outs before Jason Hayward doubled to bring home a run. Andy Pages would be called out at home on the play to end the game. Yates picks up his ninth save of the season while posting a 1.16 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 29/11 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #22
Jon Gray allowed one run with three strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Gray served up a solo homer to Shohei Ohtani in the first inning. He worked around a hit in the second and two baserunners in the third before his day was done after three innings at 65 pitches. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 2.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 63/19 K/BB ratio into a start against the Mets in Texas on Monday.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #21
Walker Buehler allowed three runs -- two earned -- with two strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.
Buehler had worked through four scoreless innings against the Rangers before serving up a three-run homer to Corey Seager to put Texas on top. Buehler scattered seven hits and one walk, striking out two batters. The 29-year-old right-hander has posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 29/9 K/BB ratio across 33 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Rockies in Colorado early next week.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Zach Neto went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, two runs scored, and two RBI to lead the Angels to an 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Neto led off the second inning with a solo homer off Slade Cecconi. He later knocked a base hit to lead off the fourth and scored on a home run by Jo Adell. Neto drove in another run in the sixth on a double that nearly left the field for a second homer. The 23-year-old shortstop is slashing a solid .250/.300/.424 with eight homers, 26 RBI, and eight steals across 240 plate appearances.
  • LAA Left Fielder #7
Jo Adell went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Adell’s only hit of the game left the yard as he extended the Angels’ lead with a three-run homer off Slade Cecconi in the fourth inning. He later drew a walk in the ninth, ending his day hitting .198/.262/.441 with 12 homers, 30 RBI, and nine steals across 196 plate appearances.
