  • ATL Third Baseman #27
Austin Riley (side) remained out of the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Cubs.
Riley remained out of Atlanta’s lineup for the 10th consecutive contest on Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field recovering from an intercostal strain. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart hasn’t played since May 12. The positive news here is that he was able to resume hitting on Wednesday without any issues. It’s unclear whether he’ll be ready to return for Friday’s series opener against the Pirates.
  • KC Catcher #13
Salvador Perez (knee) is back in the lineup as the designated hitter Sunday against the Dodgers.
Perez was removed Friday after experiencing discomfort in his right knee, and while the backstop did miss Saturday’s game, he’s feeling well enough to be the designated hitter and hit cleanup against the Dodgers in the final game of the three-game set. Great news for all parties involved.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #59
Rangers designated RHP Jesus Tinoco for assignment.
It clears space on the roster for Cole Winn, with Winn recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding transaction. Tinoco is now off the 40-man roster as well, and is subject to the waiver wire. If he goes unclaimed, the Rangers can stash him in Triple-A if Tinoco doesn’t elect free agency.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #60
Rangers recalled RHP Cole Winn from Triple-A Round Rock.
Winn is up to help provide some innings for the Rangers staff. The 24-year-old gets the promotion, and Jesus Tinoco was designated for assignment to make room for Winn on the active roster.
  • FA Relief Pitcher
    Giants released RHP Nick Avila.
Avila was up-and-down a few times for the Giants, but now is off the roster entirely as they created room for Spencer Bivens to be added to the 40-man roster and the active group. Avila is now free to sign with anyone.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #68
Erik Miller will start Sunday’s game against the Angels.
It will be bullpen games for both the Angels and Giants. Miller is getting the ball with Kyle Harrison (ankle) heading to the injured list. He likely won’t work deep enough to qualify for a win, so there’s no reason to consider him as a streaming option.
  • Giants selected the contract of RHP Spencer Bivens from Triple-A Sacramento.
Bivens will give the Giants some help in the bullpen, and he takes the roster spot of Kyle Harrison after Harrison suffered a sprained ankle. There’s no real fantasy value here, but it’s an excellent story for a 30-year-old who has a chance to make his MLB debut in the coming days.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #45
Giants placed LHP Kyle Harrison on the 15-day injured list with a right ankle sprain.
Harrison was set to start Sunday against the Angels, but the sprained ankle will cause him to miss that start and likely a couple more turns through the rotation. Erik Miller is going to start in place of Harrison on Sunday, and Spencer Bivens had his contract selected from Sacramento to replace the southpaw on the active roster.
  • TB Shortstop #7
Jose Caballero was scratched from Sunday’s lineup against Atlanta with calf tightness.
Caballero was out of the lineup for the last two days with illness, but the shortstop will miss a third straight game due to the calf injury. He is reportedly available off the bench, so consider him day-to-day. Amed Rosario gets the start at shortstop in his absence, as Taylor Walls is unavailable due to illness.
  • NYY Center Fielder #89
Jasson Dominguez was placed on the 7-day IL by Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
It’s not known why Dominguez was placed on the injured list at this time. The outfielder did miss the first two months of the season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and it’s possible there’s a correlation there. Dominguez is one of the best fantasy prospects in baseball, and assuming good health, he has a chance to be a contributor at some point this summer. Stay tuned.
  • COL Right Fielder #9
Brenton Doyle (knee) is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Pirates.
Doyle was scratched from the lineup Sunday against Pittsburgh while dealing with left patella tendinitis. The speedy outfielder will get at least one more day off, and Jake Cave will handle center field.
