Kyle Schwarber went 4-for-4 with three homers, seven RBI, and a walk to lead the Phillies to a 9-4 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Schwarber took Gavin Stone deep for a solo homer to lead off the first inning. After drawing a walk in the third, he plated two more runs with a double in the fifth. And with two runners on in the sixth, he slugged a three-run homer off Joe Kelly. Leading off the top of the ninth, Schwarber blasted his third home run of the game off Michael Grove. The 31-year-old slugger is hitting .261/.390/.504 with 27 homers, 79 runs scored, 73 RBI, and five steals across 479 plate appearances.

Mariners optioned LHP Jhonathan Díaz to Triple-A Tacoma.
The 28-year-old southpaw provided the M’s with a fresh arm in their bullpen over their final two games against the Tigers, working 1 1/3 scoreless innings with a punchout. He’ll continue to hone his craft at the Triple-A level until he’s needed once more. Expect the M’s to make a corresponding move prior to Friday’s battle against the Giants.
  • SEA Shortstop #76
Mariners optioned INF Leo Rivas to Triple-A Tacoma.
Rivas was with the clubs for a few days while Jorge Polanco was away on paternity leave, but with Polanco returning to the active roster he’ll head back to Tacoma. Rivas did not get into a game during his brief stay with the M’s this time around.
  • SEA Shortstop #7
Mariners activated INF Jorge Polanco from the paternity leave list.
He should return to the M’s starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Giants in San Francisco. The 31-year-old is off to a strong start to the 2025 campaign, hitting .400 (6-for-15) with a homer and four RBI through his first four ballgames.
  • MIL Left Fielder #5
Garrett Mitchell is not in the Brewers’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s battle against the Reds.
The 26-year-old outfielder will get a breather with left-hander Nick Lodolo taking the hill for the Reds. Sal Frelick will slide over and cover center field in his absence while the hot-hitting Isaac Collins draws a start in left field and will bat seventh for the Brewers.
  • FA Left Fielder #1
Cooper Hummel has elected free agency.
The 30-year-old refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Sugar Land and instead will instead peddle his wares on the open market. He did a nice job during Cactus League play — slashing .316/.435/.447 with a pair of swipes in 46 plate appearances — so he shouldn’t have trouble finding another team willing to take a chance on him.
  • CIN Third Baseman #4
Santiago Espinal will draw a start in left field and bat eighth for the Reds on Thursday evening against the Brewers.
The 27-year-old utilityman has made one start in right field already this season, now he’ll shift over and cover the other corner. Jake Fraley finds himself on the bench with left-hander Nestor Cortes Jr. toeing the slab for the Brewers. Espinal is off to a slow start at the plate this season, hitting .200 (2-for-10) with zero runs scored or RBI.
  • PHI Catcher #10
J.T. Realmuto went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two steals in a win over the Rockies on Thursday.
Realmuto singled for all three hits, and picked up his first two steals of the season. The 34-year-old backstop is no longer one of the upper-echelon catching options in fantasy baseball, but you can do far, far worse.
  • PHI Left Fielder #12
Kyle Schwarber hit a solo homer in a victory over the Rockies on Thursday.
Schwarber is already up to four homers with his solo shot off Luis Peralta. The 32-year-old has been one of the most consistent producers of power, and even if he doesn’t help in many other standard categories, that’s not going to change anytime soon.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #46
Jose Alvarado allowed a run on three hits, but he still picked up a save Thursday against the Rockies.
Interestingly enough, Jordan Romano worked the eighth inning of Thursday’s contest, and he worked a scoreless frame with one strikeout. Alvarado was handed a three-run lead, but he did make it interesting by allowing three hits and a walk; one of those hits being an RBI single. He also struck out three, so the stuff was fine even when the command wasn’t. Alvarado could see more save chances, but Romano remains the favorite to get the majority of those opportunities.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #49
Antonio Senzatela allowed 10 hits but only an unearned run over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Phillies on Thursday.
Antonio Senzatela is a wizard. He’s made two starts, he’s allowed 19 hits, he’s struck out three batters — all three Thursday — and he’s given up just one unearned run. You’re going to say this is unsustainable, but you also aren’t aware that Antonio Senzatela is made of magic. The dust probably wears off against the Brewers on Wednesday.
