NBA DFS Plays: Friday 9/4

Anthony Davis

This article aims to highlight some of the best NBA DFS Plays at every position for your cash game lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the day, and sometimes injury/rest situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NBA News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.

We’ll take a look at Friday’s two-game main slate starting at 6:30 ET.

POINT GUARD

Goran Dragic - Miami (vs. Milwaukee) - DK: $7,000 / FD: $7,200 / Yahoo: $25

Dragic has been extremely valuable in this series, speaking in terms of real-life production and fantasy-wise. The Miami guard has posted 43 and 39 fantasy points respectively in the first two games, and there’s a good chance he’ll continue to thrive tonight. With Russell Westbrook and Eric Bledsoe seeing less than usual minutes (coming off injury), Dragic steps in as the best “per dollar” point guard on this DFS slate. Go ahead and pencil him in through all formats.

Also Consider: Eric Bledsoe, Alex Caruso (tournaments)

SHOOTING GUARD

Khris Middleton - Milwaukee (at Miami) - DK: $8,200 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $29

Middleton is probably a better selection on FanDuel and Yahoo, where you don’t have as much position flexibility. His salary is more agreeable on those sites as well. Middleton has come alive with a steady 43 FPPG average over his last three games. I’m expecting that to continue with the Bucks finding themselves close to must-win territory while trailing 0-2 in this series.

Also Consider: Jimmy Butler, Danny Green

SMALL FORWARD

Jae Crowder - Miami (vs. Milwaukee) - DK: $5,300 / FD: $5,000 / Yahoo: $17

Even though Crowder was pretty blah in Game 1, we still recommended him as a “best bargain” for Game 2. The Miami forward came through with 32 fantasy points in 35 minutes. The rationale holds true for Game 3, as Crowder will still see starter minutes to find adequate fantasy production. Sure, he sometimes takes a backseat to Butler and company on the offensive side, but Jae should see enough opportunities to patch together another fine showing for a non-imposing price.

Also Consider: Eric Gordon, Giannis Antetokounmpo

POWER FORWARD

Anthony Davis - LA Lakers (vs. Houston) - DK: $10,600 / FD: $11,200 / Yahoo: $51

I really like Anthony Davis in this series. LeBron is great and all, but this series has Davis written all over it. The Rockets are undersized, that’s no secret, and Davis could feast on them in the paint. “AD” went for 32-13-3 with three blocks and three steals against the Rockets before the league shut down, and that’s the type of production I’m expecting tonight. Of course, he has rebounding upside beyond that, as I don’t believe the Rockets will be able to keep him off the glass through four quarters.

Also Consider: Bam Adebayo, Robert Covington

CENTER

Brook Lopez - Milwaukee (at Miami) - DK: $5,600 / FD: $5,700 / Yahoo: $20

Lopez has been a steady producer with a cool 30 FPPG average over his last four games. He’s a reliable mid-range pick at an otherwise weak center position - especially on FanDuel. I’m expecting “BroLo” to post his usual 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks line, and there’s upside if he can get his jumper falling early and often.

Also Consider: PJ Tucker
BEST BARGAINS

PJ Tucker (C - HOU) is a great pick through all formats for only $12 on Yahoo. He’s worth checking out as a utility filler on DraftKings and a cheaper alternative from Lopez on FanDuel. Tucker has posted 32 fantasy points in back-to-back games, and he’ll continue to log heavy minutes for the Rockets. That doesn’t always translate to solid fantasy production, but PJ has a range of 20-35 fantasy points depending on how many peripheral stats (steals/blocks) he can pile up.
GPP PIVOTS

Alex Caruso (PG - LAL) is an interesting value filler on all three major DFS sites. As mentioned earlier, Westbrook and Bledsoe don’t have the best fantasy prospects for their salary. That makes the point guard position somewhat thin outside of Dragic, and Caruso is a sneaky-good bargain to fill that void. He was seeing 20-25 minutes per contest last series, resulting in 26 FP in two of his last three games. There’s a chance he’ll be on the higher end of that range of playing time against a smaller/quicker Houston lineup. Our Rotoworld NBA DFS Optimizer really likes him as a value play, and I’m in agreement.
