This article aims to highlight some of the best NBA DFS Plays at every position for your cash game lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the day, and sometimes injury/rest situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NBA News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.
We’ll take a look at Monday’s three-game main slate starting at 7:30 ET.
POINT GUARD
Kyle Lowry - Toronto (at Utah)
Lowry has stepped for the Raptors and DFS backers lately. Some of that is due to higher usage with Fred VanVleet missing the last five games. However, I believe he’s a solid DFS lift through all formats despite VanVleet’s (questionable) status. His opponent, Utah, ranks 21st in defensive efficiency to point guards, and Lowry will try to hit 50 fantasy points for the third-straight time tonight.
Also Consider: Eric Bledsoe, Terry Rozier
SHOOTING GUARD
Khris Middleton - Milwaukee (at Denver)
Giannis Antetokounmpo will not play this evening, which opens the door for other Milwaukee players to step up. Khris Middleton leads that group while Donte DiVencenzo and Eric Bledsoe are certainly in the conversation as well. Antetokounmpo didn’t play at Phoenix yesterday, and Middleton stepped up for 43 fantasy points in 35 minutes. Tonight’s matchup at Denver looks middle-of-the-road from a defensive efficiency point of view (Nuggets are 16th vs. SGs), but Middleton pay fantasy dividends with increased volume.
Also Consider: Donte DiVencenzo, Norman Powell (better if VanVleet out)
SMALL FORWARD
Pascal Siakam - Toronto (at Utah)
There are only three games on tonight’s slate, meaning we can’t play optimal matchups throughout our lineups. Siakam has a tough draw at Utah, but he’s still a fine DFS commodity with low opportunity cost at small forward. He’s not a 100% must play, but Pascal certainly deserves to be on your shortlist through all formats. He has posted 48+ fantasy points in three of his last five, and this is a competitive matchup to keep going.
Also Consider: OG Anunoby, Miles Bridges
POWER FORWARD
John Collins - Atlanta (vs. Charlotte)
Collins is probably my favorite overall play on this slate. Sure, he’ll carry a massive ownership rate, but I’m still taking him through all formats. Collins will step into an elite matchup against a Charlotte team that ranks dead last in defensive efficiency to power forwards. He has posted 48+ fantasy points in four of his last five games, and I’d be surprised if he didn’t top that threshold here. Without Giannis Antetokounmpo playing tonight, you could argue that Collins is one of the top overall fantasy prospects of the night (regardless of salary).
Also Consider: Serge Ibaka, PJ Washington
CENTER
Nikola Jokic - Denver (vs. Milwaukee)
It’s going to be difficult to squeeze Lowry, Middleton, Siakam, Collins, and Jokic into the same lineup on DraftKings or Yahoo. However, there’s enough value to make that strategy work on FanDuel, as value prospects like DiVencenzo, Rozier, Anunoby, and others help pave the way … As for Jokic, the matchup doesn’t look great on paper with Milwaukee ranking fifth in defensive efficiency to centers. However, this will be an extremely competitive home matchup that should bring out the best in him. In other words, I’m not forcing Jokic into my lineup, but he’s a strong expenditure if you can swing the cumbersome salary.
On DraftKings and Yahoo, taking a value center from Charlotte seems like the better route. Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo have been trading starts with the other sitting out entirely. Whoever gets the nod tonight will be greeted by a strong matchup at Atlanta with a healthy fantasy opportunity. Keep that in mind.
