Point Guard

Kyle Lowry - Miami Heat (vs. Atlanta Hawks)

The Miami Heat are going to be without major pieces of their offense tonight including Butler, Morris, and Dedmon. Kyle Lowry will be heavily relied upon to not only produce on the offensive side of the ball but to limit Trae Young on the defensive side of the ball. This is a large task but I think he is capable of it. He and Max Strus will be relied upon for scoring tonight. Both guards are top plays against an Atlanta team who Miami has yet to face this season (but will see four times from now until April when the 2022 regular-season ends). Look to the Miami Heat for significant daily fantasy value tonight but make sure you start with Kyle Lowry.

Other PG Option: Alec Burks

Shooting Guard

Jalen Brunson - Dallas Mavericks (vs. New York Knicks)

Jalen Brunson is an interesting player on tonight’s nine-game slate. I expect Luka Doncic to struggle in New York tonight as he will be defended by the likes of Evan Fournier and Alec Burks. Both New York guards are capable of making Luka pass the ball. This first pass will benefit the Maverick’s number 2 guard. Brunson is a talented scorer and assuming Doncic cannot get things going, he typically picks up the slack. Capable of driving it to the hoop and pulling it back for three, Jalen Brunson is another one of my top plays for tonight’s nine-game slate.

Other SG Option: Evan Fournier

Small Forward

Jayson Tatum - Boston Celtics (vs. Indiana Pacers)

The Boston Celtics are facing the Indiana Pacers for the second time in two games. On Monday, the Celtics beat the Pacers by three points led by Jaylen Brown who totaled 26 points (11/26 FG). Brown needed to step up as Tatum struggled offensively. On the other side, Torrey Craig led the way for the Pacers with 19 points. Yes, you heard that right…Torrey Craig. Sabonis does not match up well against the Celtics which I noted in my last article. He played 45 minutes in the Monday nights game going 3-12. He was able to get 22 rebounds and 10 assists. It was no surprise to me that Sabonis was not able to shoot well from the field as Al Horford is one of the best in the game at controlling the paint. Tonight, I think the Celtics win again but by a much larger margin. The Celtics match up very well against a healthy Pacers team (which they are not tonight). The Pacers could potentially be without Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert once again. Tatum played 42 minutes in their last matchup shooting 7-21 and went 0-7 from beyond the arc. Look for Jayson Tatum to take control of tonight‘s game. I expect him to be aggressive and to make up for Monday night’s horrific shooting display. Tatum was still able to manage 24 points despite shooting just 33% from the field. Jayson Tatum is my play of tonight‘s slate.

Power Forward

Julius Randle - New York Knicks (vs. Dallas Mavericks)

The Dallas Mavericks have a tough matchup tonight against the New York Knicks. With Porzingis out, the Mavericks lean heavily on Luka Doncic. Well, Doncic has a tough matchup against two players who have proven to guard him sufficiently. These players include Evan Fournier and Alec Burks. Both Knick guards have size and strength which is necessary when limiting Dallas’ Doncic. If the Knicks can limit Luka, expect massive fantasy production from Julius Randle. In this narrative, Randle will benefit from increased rebounds and shot blocks as well as shot attempts and a favorable matchup. The Knicks are slight underdogs but at home, they’ll get it done tonight. Julius Randle is sitting at a salary of $8,500 on DraftKings which is more than reasonable considering his upside. Pair Julius Randle with Jalen Brunson for optimal daily fantasy production from this matchup.

Other PF Option: Taj Gibson

Center

Omer Yurtseven - Miami Heat (vs. Atlanta Hawks)

As I mentioned above, the Miami Heat are in a solid position to garner significant daily fantasy value. Who specifically? Well other than the Lowry play, Yurtseven is interesting. A popular decision tonight is going to be Whiteside or Yurtseven. For me, the call is clear. Yurtseven has a better matchup, is projected for more offensive/defensive usage, and is expected to have a lower roster percentage compared to Whiteside. Yurtseven is the type of player that if he gets the minutes, reaches fantasy value. Lock him in.

Other C Option: Mitchell Robinson
