WR Notes: Although WR3 overall Christian Watson has scored 20.1 more PPR points than his teammate Matthew Golden, only seven players have more overall tallies than Golden, who is just outside the top 12 by average points. He has drawn 12-plus targets in 3-of-6 appearances. It’s worth fretting over how pass-happy the Packers will remain following Josh Jacobs’ return, but those worries are for another day, not Week 7 vs. the Lions’ No. 32 pass defense. … Part of Nico Collins’ WR1 appeal has always been his lack of competition. Does he finally have some? Second-year pro Jaylin Noel is pushing his way up the WR4 ranks, while Marvin Harrison Jr. had a solid Texans debut in London. Collins’ production has also been muted by his standards since returning from his hamstring injury in Week 4. With the Texans two-score favorites for Week 7, Collins just might not see enough volume to crack the top 12. … Drake London leads the league in targets without a touchdown. He’s also being annoyingly harassed by Jahan Dotson. Frustrations, no doubt. A player of London’s caliber should also soon blow them out of the water.
Justin Jefferson has yet to really go off this season. Might he finally be ready coming off the Vikings’ open date? God willing, especially since Sauce Gardner (calf) is out for the Colts’ struggling defense. Jordan Addison (hamstring) is also back for the Vikings, however. Amazingly, Jefferson, Addison and Kyler Murray have completed only one game together so far in 2026. We don’t know the true patterns here yet. We are still banking on them revealing Jefferson as a high-end WR1. … Zay Flowers is averaging 22.4 PPR points per game when Lamar Jackson plays compared to 13.7 when he doesn’t. Thankfully for fantasy managers, that latter number is not a disaster. It’s also more low-end WR2 than WR1. Surprisingly, Jackson (ankle) is again sidelined for Week 7. We aren’t going to drop Flowers all the way down to the WR20-24 range, but he is struggling to find his way into the top 12. … Jalen Coker has finished outside the WR2 ranks just one time in four completed contests. Week 7 opponent Tampa has had surprising success when it comes to patrolling the skies, but Carolina’s pass-happy ways and narrow targets tree keeps Coker locked in as a top-20 option.
I won’t pretend this is the most telling stat — God only knows how many different variables factor into these splits — but DeVonta Smith has actually averaged more PPR points per game in his seven career appearances without Jalen Hurts compared to 77 with him. Again, there’s a chance it means nothing. It’s also better than the alternative. Tanner McKee kept Smith functional in Week 6, and now they have a Week 7 smash spot in the Cowboys. … A.J. Brown could not have played worse if he tried in Week 6. He also commanded 10 targets while the Pats lost Romeo Doubs to a multi-week shoulder injury. I definitely have long-term AJB concerns. He looked sluggish against the Jets. I just don’t really expect them to manifest for Thursday evening’s likely shootout with the Bears. … Luther Burden III still needs to get his route rate up, but he’s established a WR2 floor no matter who is under center for the Bears. There is going to be an explosion sooner rather than later. Hopefully it is Thursday vs. the Patriots, whose Christian Gonzalez seems more likely to spend more time following Rome Odunze on the perimeter than Burden along the interior. (Burden plays over half his snaps in the slot.)
Germie Bernard is “vibing out” with Aaron Rodgers. It’s the last thing I would have expected with a Day 2 rookie and Decade 3 veteran, but Rodgers is finally desperate enough to accept his surroundings. Those are a banged up skill corps where the rook is the second best option behind DK Metcalf. Don’t expect it to change against the Saints. … if you throw out one-game sample sizes, Carnell Tate is the WR18 by average points over the past three weeks. Even if you don’t, he’s the WR22. His talent is proving too big for Cam Ward to drown out. That doesn’t mean the struggling second-year quarterback won’t try, but Tate has officially established some boom to go along with his inherent Titans bust potential. … In the most predictable, least fun development of all time, Keenan Allen is wily veteran-ing Josh Downs. Of course, it’s not just that Allen is playing well. It’s that Downs is playing poorly. Not that he is alone in his struggles in Indianapolis. For years we have cried out for greater Downs opportunities. The results have not been enough to keep ranking him in the top 30.
Tre Tucker has caught at least four passes every game since Week 1. He has spiked two weeks in that timespan. That’s enough to rank him like a real deal WR3. … Josh Norris has the stat on Xavier Worthy: “I do think it’s interesting Worthy has seen 116 opportunities on first down vs. 115 on second, third and fourth downs combined.” I’ll add: Worthy has 18 career fourth quarter receptions. Translation: Worthy struggles to command targets on the most important plays. He has to either be scripted his looks or have them gift-wrapped in the most advantageous spots. That’s why, despite the Chiefs’ extreme need for targets in Rashee Rice’s (hamstring) ongoing absence, Worthy simply isn’t going to be a materially different player in fantasy football. … Adonai Mitchell (finger) is finally ready to return for the Jets. Is it going to be too little, too late for fantasy managers with first-round rookie Omar Cooper Jr. turning in five highly impressive quarters so far this season? That’s the way I will roll in my ranks, with the caveat this is a highly uncertain situation behind Garrett Wilson. It is an A+ matchup in the Dolphins, keeping both players in the WR4 mix.
