Diamondbacks pitcher Evan Marshall, pitching for Triple-A Reno, suffered a fractured skull when he was hit in the head with a line drive on Tuesday. He underwent surgery to alleviate swelling and pressure, and is currently in stable condition in the intensive care unit. The full update from the D’Backs:

We at HardballTalk certainly wish Marshall a full and speedy recovery. The 25-year-old right-hander was the club’s fourth-round selection in the 2011 draft out of Kansas State University. He was reliable out of the bullpen for the D’Backs last season, posting a 2.74 ERA over 49 1/3 innings.
