Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Orioles are in pursuit of free agent outfielder Josh Reddick.

Reddick, 29, played only 115 games between the Athletics and Dodgers due to finger and back injuries. He performed better with the A’s, putting up an .816 OPS in 272 plate appearances. With the Dodgers, he had a meager .643 OPS in 167 PA.

The Orioles have also been linked to free agent Ian Desmond, but Desmond will have draft pick compensation attached to him as a result of receiving a $17.2 million qualifying offer from the Rangers. Reddick, who switched teams mid-season, does not have draft pick compensation attached.

Reddick is probably best suited as part of an outfield platoon. He compiled a measly .366 OPS against lefties this past season. Over his eight-year career, Reddick has an OPS nearly 150 points higher against right-handed pitchers than he does against lefties.
