Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that the Brewers are expected to announce a contract extension for manager Craig Counsell at a noon Central Time press conference.
Counsell was given a three-year deal when hired early in the 2015 season, meaning that 2017 would’ve been a lame duck year for him. The Brewers, while having struggled to a 134-165 record in Counsell’s nearly two seasons at the helm, are nonetheless pleased with his leadership. It’s not his fault they started rebuilding last year.
