NASCAR announced that Martin Truex Jr.'s third-place car failed the Laser Inspection Station after Saturday night’s race at Richmond International Raceway.
Any penalty to Truex would not impact his points entering the Chase since it is considered to occur before the points are reset.
NASCAR docked Ryan Newman’s team and Kyle Larson’s team for failing the Laser Inspection Station the previous weekend at Darlington after the Southern 500.
NASCAR announced after Saturday’s race that the cars of winner Denny Hamlin, Larson, Kasey Kahne and Greg Biffle will go back to the R&D Center for regular post-race inspection there.
