Chandler Parsons was instrumental as a recruiter for the Mavericks over the summer, but his health has been in question for a while. He had a minor microfracture procedure on his right knee in May and missed all of training camp, as well as the first two games of the season. But after Thursday night’s 104-88 loss to the Clippers, Parsons told Yahoo’s Marc Spears that he’s aiming for Sunday’s matchup with the Lakers for his return.

The Mavericks have no shortage of injuries in the early going of the season. Deron Williams is already banged up, Wesley Matthews looks to be sitting out back-to-backs (he didn’t play Thursday after playing Wednesday), and JaVale McGee has a ways to go before he returns. Getting Parsons back will help things, but he’ll be rusty.
