Fesenko to start in place of Okur

The Associated Press is reporting that the Utah Jazz will start Kyrylo Fesenko at center for Monday night’s game two of their series against the Denver Nuggets. The Jazz lost starting center Mehmet Okur to an Achilles tendon injury in game one of the series.

The 23-year old Fesenko is listed at an impressive 7-1, 300 pounds, but is far from a proven commodity in the NBA. Fesenko averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per game this season. Fesenko only got five minutes of court time in game one of the series. He was named the starter over second-year center Kosta Koufos, who is also expected to get some playing time.
