Viktor Fasth allowed three goals on 12 shots including two in 44 seconds as the Edmonton Oilers fell 4-2 to the Anaheim Ducks Friday night.
After Ryan Getzlaf made it 3-0 51 seconds into the middle period, coach Dallas Eakins had seen enough pulling Fasth in favor of Ben Scrivens.
Once on the Oilers’ bench, Fasth threw his helmet to the ground and proceeded to yell at his teammates.
Have a look:
Post-game, Fasth, who saw his record drop to 2-8-2 on the season, explained his outburst.
“We gave up two quick goals in the second period there in the beginning and its’ frustrating,” he said. “I got to make the saves to keep us in there, that’s about it. I was disappointed in myself for giving up two... the first two shots in the second period up. No matter what the chances were, I still got to make the saves to keep us in there.
“I was trying to get us to wake up a little bit and get us going.”
The Oilers get back to action Sunday when they play host to the New York Rangers.
