Bournemouth vs Everton recap: The Cherries snapped a four-game losing skid as they breezed past the Toffees, who turned in a truly dismal display, for a 3-0 victory at Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

The victory sends Bournemouth (16 points) all the way up to 13th in the Premier League table, up from 17th, where Everton (14 points) now reside after slipping one place. The 2022 World Cup break couldn’t have come at a better time for the Toffees.

Another relegation fight, wasted season for Everton?
Just three games shy of the halfway point of the season, the Toffees appear headed for another long fight against relegation. With just one win from their previous six games before Saturday (1W-1D-4L), defeats to Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle and Leicester were understandable and largely expected. But, to go down so quietly to what used to be the 17th-place side, is more embarrassing and a very worrying sign. If not Bournemouth, then who?
As soon as the full-time whistle blew, there were words exchanged by an Everton fan (or fans) and midfielder Alex Iwobi, who reportedly received abuse from the away fans during the second half. Jordan Pickford walked closer to the fans than most of his teammates and was also seen having words with someone before being pulled away with the frustrations visible on his face.

Bournemouth build a lead, hold onto it
Two weeks in a row, Bournemouth found themselves two goals up in the second half before melting down and conceding the final three goals to lose 3-2 to Tottenham and 4-3 to Leeds. This time, the Cherries scored the next goal and they never looked back.

Bournemouth’s last Premier League win came Oct. 8 when Ryan Christie and Phillip Billing scored in a 2-1 defeat of Leicester City. Ex-Liverpool man Dominic Solanke will have a chance to stick the knife in his former Merseyside rivals and build on his three goals and three assists to restart life in the Premier League.
Everton doesn’t have any player with more than three goals (Anthony Gordon has three) but perhaps that’s down to usage? Second-leading scorer Dwight McNeil has logged just 661 minutes this season. McNeil also has zero assists despite a 1.47 expected assist total and Demarai Gray also is yet to record an assist in the face of a 2.03 xA mark. Alex Iwobi has been leading the team, including in helpers with five assists.
