German national team legend Miroslav Klose, 37, is said to be mulling over offers from Major League Soccer.

Multiple outlets in Italy claim that Miroslav Klose could be heading to Major League Soccer for the 2016 season as he’s out of contract with Lazio next July.

The main sticking point is said to be Klose’s reluctance to break out of his contract with Lazio early as the Polish born former German national team star has been with The Eagles since 2011 and has become a cult hero in Rome.

Even if Klose arrives mid-season in MLS next year, would he be a good pickup? Well, it’s hit and miss. Look at the Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba scenarios from last season at New York City FC and Montreal Impact respectively and you’ll see what I mean.

However, there’s no doubting that Klose’s ability as a poacher would see MLS teams lining up to get him on board for an 18-month contract. I mean, come on, this guy is the all-time leading goalscorer at World Cup finals tournaments with 16 across four tournaments. Like Drogba, Lampard and to a lesser extend Pirlo, it seems as though Klose has kept himself in good shape and would be a great addition for any MLS team either midseason or for the entire 2016 campaign.

It is rumored that he has been offered an ambassadorial role with the German national team as Joachim Low wants him to be with the squad at EURO 2016 this summer, and despite Klose’s apparent interest in getting into coaching in the next few years, it would be interesting to see where he’d land in MLS.

This is not the first time Klose has been linked with a move to North America’s top-flight and since 2013 we’ve been hearing about reports and rumors regarding the German internartional but this seems like the right time to arrive in MLS if he’s going to do it.
