Whether or not Barcelona win La Liga or the UEFA Champions League, the Catalan club looked the part of title-winners on Saturday.

Luis Suarez scored three goals, as Barca burst for eight markers in 46 minutes of play to defeat Cordoba 8-0. The Blaugranas have a five-point lead on Real Madrid, which can return the gap to two with a road win over Sevilla at 2 p.m. ET.

The match was scoreless into the 42nd minute when Ivan Rakitic netted, and Suarez scored his first in first-half stoppage time.

Then Lionel Messi netted the first of his two -- the second giving him 40 goals this year -- as Barcelona scored right out of the halftime break.

Gerard Pique also scored, and Neymar added a penalty in the 85th mintue before Suarez closed off the scoring with his third, an 88th minute finish.

The eight goals are the most Cordoba have conceded in Spain’s top flight, and the Andalusian club is set for relegation.
