As the Premier League continues its exciting start to the season, Week 5’s Saturday mayhem included plenty of goals, a few surprises, and managerial turmoil.

And if you missed any of the action, we’re here to help.

The six fixtures saw 17 goals fly in altogether, and plenty of storylines to go along with them. There were no draws as every match played out a winner and a loser (Ted Lasso would be proud) and of the six victors on the day, only two of them did so in front of their home fans.

But without further ado, let’s navigate a day of three points for the Barclays Premier League.

Chelsea 2-0 Fulham - Recap

Martin Jol and Fulham continue to slide down the table as Chelsea picked themselves from their first Premier League loss last time out. Oscar got the scoring started early on a goalkeeping error from David Stockdale, and John Mikel Obi picked up his first-ever Premier League goal to end any threat from the Whites.

Liverpool 0-1 Southampton - Recap

Experimenting with four central defenders at the back, Brendan Rodgers was shocked by a quality Southampton side as Dejan Lovern headed home the match’s only goal. The loss is the first of the year for Liverpool who were previously top of the table.

West Ham 2-3 Everton - Recap

Leighton Baines blasted two free kicks past Jussi Jaaskelainen, and Mark Noble’s late sending off set up the winner as Everton picked up all three points on the road at West Ham United.

Newcastle 2-3 Hull City - Recap

Hull’s Sone Aluko fired in a golazo as Loic Remy’s double wasn’t enough for the home side to steal anything from the match. It’s the second win of this Premier League tenure for Steve Bruce’s newly-promoted Hull as they jump to 10th in the table.

West Brom 3-0 Sunderland - Recap

Paolo Di Canio’s misery continues as a trio of goalscorers assured Sunderland remains the only team in the Premier League without a win. Di Canio remained on the pitch following the match, soaking in abuse from his away supporters and seemingly motioning to them to be patient.

Norwich 0-1 Aston Villa - Recap

American Brad Guzan sparkled in goal, saving a Robert Snodgrass penalty and blanking Norwich as Libor Kozak hit the final ball on the other end for Aston Villa.
