Chris Ramsey and his Queens Park Rangers are off to a decent start in their quest to achieve promotion back to the Premier League, and big striker Charlie Austin is a big reason.
The 26-year-old striker has four goals in five matches to begin new life in the Championship, with the R’s off to a 3-1-1 start. And Ramsey dodged a summer transfer window that saw his star man connected with moves to Newcastle, Tottenham and other destinations.

Either the $22 million price tag was too much, Austin didn’t like the new club, or there was another factor that kept Austin at Loftus Road.
Whether he’ll stay longer is another question. Ramsey’s unsure whether table success can keep Austin with QPR, especially given this summer’s big tournament in France.
From the London Evening Standard:“Everyone has their price. Whatever happens, we have to do what’s best for QPR. If selling Charlie at that time is the right thing for QPR, then I’m sure the owners will make that decision at the time.
“We are in a financial situation that we need to address and Charlie as an individual has a dream of playing at Euro 2016. If Charlie performs as he has been the last few games, then I’m sure a Premier League club of his liking will come in for him.”
That’ll perk the ears and open the eyes of Premier League suitors. Austin continues to prove that his striking success is far from a fluke, regardless of league level.
