Fernando Torres could be heading home.
Reports out of Europe pen the Spaniard for a return to his boyhood club Atletico Madrid, with his two-year loan spell at AC Milan to be cut short after only a few months.

Chelsea bought Torres from Liverpool in 2011 for what was then a record British transfer fee, only to see his production plummet, as the striker was sent out on loan to AC Milan this summer.
Now, it looks like Chelsea are willing to let him go for free.
From Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague:Our understanding is that Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan have reached an agreement for Fernando Torres to go back to Atletico Madrid.
It was all discussed, negotiated and agreed yesterday. It seems it is all confirmed. We have not received details from the club yet but (Atletico manager) Simeone asked for Fernando Torres three weeks ago.
In fact, he wanted him in the summer but there was a transfer fee to be paid at that time that Atletico Madrid could not afford. The suggestion is that Chelsea have let him go for free but in any case it seems confirmed that Fernando Torres returns home.”
After scoring 81 goals in 142 appearances for Liverpool, Torres has failed to even come close to that production rate after leaving Anfield in January of 2011. The Spanish international was pushed out of Chelsea with the signings of Diego Costa and Loic Remy over the summer and has failed to produce while on loan at Milan, scoring once in ten appearances.

Torres began his youth career with Atletico Madrid when he was 11-years-old, and made his first-team debut at 17. He made over 200 appearances for the club while tallying 91 goals before being sold to Liverpool.
Now at age 30, Torres will look to recapture his form at his boyhood club, as his career has been going downhill very quickly.
