The BBC is reporting that Queens Park Rangers have avoided the three-division relegation that awaited them for being relegated in a season in which they breached Financial Fair Play.

Harry Redknapp spent big under Tony Fernandez to get the club back to the Premier League, quitting his post in the middle of the season and end of a transfer window in which they brought in few reinforcements.

Chris Ramsey was unable to undo the mess, and QPR are going down, just not as far as they could’ve fallen.

QPR are alleged to have spent more on salaries than rules allowed when they were in the division two seasons ago. From the BBC:

Queens Park Rangers will not be barred from the Championship despite being accused of breaching Football League regulations.

That will come as a major relief for Fernandez, whose club will have to bring in a bunch of new players this offseason. Several big names like Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips are out of contract, several more could retire, and players like Charlie Austin, Robert Green and Matty Phillips could be in demand.
