  • MIN F #15
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Courtney Williams, Karlie Samuelson, Bridget Carleton, Napheesa Collier and Jessica Shepard will start Friday’s game against the Wings.
These are the same five that started Minnesota’s preseason finale, with Shepard filling in for the injured Alanna Smith (quad). For those competing in fantasy leagues, Shepard’s short-term value increases with her move into the starting lineup. Samuelson will also have added value as the Lynx remain without Kayla McBride (personal).

Emily Engstler (personal) is available for Thursday’s game against the Lynx.
Engstler has been removed from Washington’s injury report after being away from the team for two games for personal reasons. While she has not been an impactful option in most fantasy leagues, the Mystics forward will play rotation minutes off the bench. Aaliyah Edwards, who the Mystics are reportedly looking to trade, may see her playing time decrease with Engstler back in the fold.
Liberty vs. Sparks: Bet under for Plum
Brad Thomas and Vaughn Dalzell place their bets for the upcoming Liberty vs. Sparks match, which could be a bounce back for the Liberty. If you plan on taking Liberty, make sure to bet under for Sparks’ Kelsey Plum.
  • WAS G #1
Sug Sutton (leg) is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Lynx.
Sutton is dealing with a lower leg injury, hence her inclusion on the Mystics’ injury report. The good news for Washington is that Jade Melbourne (mouth) is not on the injury report, so she’ll be available to absorb Sutton’s minutes if Sug cannot play.
  • Myisha Hines-Allen (ankle) is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Mercury.
Due to a right ankle injury, Hines-Allen is not guaranteed to be available Thursday night. While the Wings did trade NaLyssa Smith to the Aces earlier in the week, the returns of Teaira McCowan and Luisa Geiselsöder from EuroBasket and the addition of Liatu King should help alleviate any potential depth concerns.
  • DiJonai Carrington (ribs) is doubtful for Thursday’s game against the Mercury.
Carrington has missed Dallas’s last four games with a rib injury and appears likely to sit out a fifth on Thursday. With Arike Ogunbowale (thumb) already out, the Wings must lean heavily on rookies Paige Bueckers, Aziaha James and JJ Quinerly.
  • Arike Ogunbowale (thumb) is out for Thursday’s game against the Mercury.
Add Ogunbowale’s name to Dallas’ lengthy injury report, as she’ll be unavailable for Thursday’s game with a thumb injury on her non-shooting hand. With DiJonai Carrington (ribs) likely missing another game, Dallas will rely heavily on Paige Bueckers and JJ Quinerly.
  • Caitlin Clark (groin) is out for Thursday’s game against the Aces.
Thursday’s game will be the fourth Clark has missed since injuring her groin, and it’s the second lower-body injury she has suffered this season. Fever coach Stephanie White said Thursday that the team wants to ensure Clark is back to full strength before she plays again. Aari McDonald has been the replacement in the starting lineup and should retain that role until Clark returns.
  • FA G #7
    Sparks waived guard Shey Peddy.
Signed to a hardship contract by the Sparks on June 14, Peddy appeared in six games (five starts) before being waived. In her appearances, Peddy averaged 5.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.8 three-pointers in 27.0 minutes. Rae Burrell has been cleared to return from a knee injury, prompting the Sparks’ need to part ways with Peddy.
  • Sparks waived guard Odyssey Sims.
A few days removed from rejoining the team after missing time for personal reasons, the Sparks have waived Sims. The veteran guard started 11 of the 12 games she appeared in this season, averaging 9.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 three-pointers in 29.5 minutes. Julie Allemand has rejoined the team after playing in FIBA Women’s EuroBasket, and her return will help the Sparks regarding their perimeter depth.
  • Sun waived center Kariata Diaby.
The Sun needed to free up a roster spot to activate rookie guard Leila Lacan, as she joins the team after fulfilling her national team commitment to France. Diaby, who averaged 7.9 minutes per game in 13 appearances this season, was the odd player out. With rookie Aneesah Morrow’s playing time increasing in recent games, it was going to be challenging for Diaby to pick up the minutes needed to make an impact. Activating Lacan will immediately impact the Sun, who remain without injured guard Marina Mabrey (knee).
  • Sophie Cunningham tallied 13 points (4-of-6 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist and three three-pointers in Tuesday’s win over the Lynx.
Cunningham had arguably her best performance of the season on Tuesday in the biggest game yet. She came off the bench to finish as one of the Fever’s top scorers, while her trio of three-pointers led the team. Her seven fourth-quarter points were particularly big in helping halt any comeback the Lynx tried to mount, and she ended the game as a plus-18 in 25 minutes. Cunningham should continue to serve as a valuable piece for Indiana as the season progresses.
