Florida State, as usual, is closing strong on National Signing Day.
Jimbo Fisher’s latest commit is Berlin native Bjoern Werner, who prepped at well-known Salisbury High School in Connecticut.
Werner didn’t begin playing football until an ankle injury ruined his soccer career. ESPN’s Robert Smith recently called Werner “a (Ndamukong) Suh on the outside.”
Though Werner is (only?) a three-star prospect according to Rivals, his listing in the 6-foot-4, 264-270 pound range indicates that he could be an immediate contributor. Werner is ticketed to play strong-side defensive end in Tallahassee.
