A handful of days after unofficially losing an assistant to in-state “rival” Ohio State, Cincinnati has filled that coaching void.
Reportedly.
According to CoachingSearch.com, Bearcats head coach Butch Jones has hired Holy Cross defensive coordinator Shannon Morrison as his new defensive backs coach. Morrison would replace Kerry Coombs, who left UC last week after five years with the program to take over the Buckeyes’ secondary.
Just this past Friday, Morrison was announced as Holy Cross’ new coordinator, meaning he was with the Crusaders for less than a week. Prior to his very brief “tenure” at the Div. 1-AA (FCS) school, Morrison had been the cornerbacks coach at Memphis.
Morrison has also served on coaching staffs at Bowling Green and Marshall in the past few years.
