However, this was an encouraging outing. He’ll look to keep the momentum going on Thursday when he faces the Astros, assuming the Athletics are going to give him another turn in the rotation.

Adell homered for the second consecutive contest against Kansas City, taking ace Cole Ragans deep for a 419-foot no-doubter to left field in the second inning. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season and third time he’s gone deep in his last four games. The 25-year-old former top prospect appears to be finally putting it all together at the highest level as vastly improved plate discipline has helped him unlock his immense raw potential. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this point.

Witt was one of the few bright spots for Kansas City during Saturday’s one-sided affair in Los Angeles, recording his second double-digit steal effort of the year. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar is already up to five homers and 15 steals in just 178 plate appearances over 41 games. He seems poised to easily eclipse the 50-steal mark in just his third season at the major league level.

Anderson coughed up an RBI double to Salvador Perez in the opening frame, but managed to limit Kansas City’s lineup to just a pair of late runs in the sixth and seventh innings, respctively, over the remainder of his outing. He struck out four and only issued one walk. The 34-year-old southpaw has exceeded expectations so far, posting a solid 2.92 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 36/19 K/BB ratio across 49 1/3 innings (eight starts). He’ll face the division-rival Rangers on Friday in his next outing.

The final line isn’t pretty, but it looks worse than it probably should as Ragans was charged with two additional runs following his exit from the contest when Nick Anderson allowed both inherited runners to cross the plate. A three-run homer by Jo Adell in the second inning was responsible for most of the damage against him in this one. The 26-year-old lefty notched only three strikeouts and issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 57/16 K/BB ratio across 49 innings (nine starts) into a favorable home matchup on Friday against the Athletics.

Hernández continues to make a significant impact in his Los Angeles debut. The 31-year-old lefty-mashing corner outfielder gave the Dodgers a commanding five-run advantage in the sixth inning by taking Padres reliever Enyel De Los Santos deep to left field for his 11th round-tripper of the season. He’s never going to be a standout in the batting average department at this stage of his career, but he’s continuing to hit for a ton of power and has been a run-producing machine in the heart of the Dodgers’ loaded lineup.

Paxton continues to excel in his Los Angeles debut, reeling off six scoreless frames to stun the division-rival Padres at Petco Park. He finished with four strikeouts, didn’t hand out a free pass, and allowed just six batted balls with an exit velocity in excess of 95 mph. The 35-year-old veteran southpaw has managed to stay healthy so far, and has been an impact fantasy contributor, despite a steep decline in strikeout percentage. He’s overdue for some regression in the run-prevention department, but he’s been effective so far. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.58 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 22/24 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Thursday against the Reds.

Waldron managed to limit Los Angeles’ formidable lineup to just one run into the sixth inning, but San Diego’s offense was unable to provide him with any run support at all in this one. It was a much-needed bounce-back effort after being torched for eight runs (seven earned) by the Diamondbacks his last time out. The 27-year-old knuckleballer will bring an inflated 5.49 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 35/15 K/BB ratio across 39 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tough road matchup on Friday against the Braves.
