  • SF Third Baseman #26
Matt Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Chapman crushed a second-inning pitch from Ryan Weathers 428 feet at 108.6 mph off the bat. He also added a 106.5 mph double on the night. Chapman did have a strikeout as well, but he now has 19 strikeouts in 18 games, which is an improvement from his strikeout rate in 2023. Still, Chapman is slashing just .205/.256/.411 so the Giants will be hoping he can make a bit more contact to go along with his four home runs and 11 RBI.
  • NYY Right Fielder #27
Giancarlo Stanton is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Mariners.
Stanton will get a night off against the Mariners with Bryan Woo on the bump for Seattle. Aaron Judge will be the designated hitter with Trent Grisham getting a start in center field.
  • HOU Center Fielder #38
Astros optioned OF Trey Cabbage to Triple-A Sugar Land.
Cabbage is sent down with Chas McCormick (hamstring) officially coming off the injured list. the 27-year-old will provide organizational depth with a chance to return as a bench option for Houston before the 2024 season comes to a close.
  • HOU Left Fielder #20
Astros activated OF Chas McCormick off the 10-day injured list.
Trey Cabbage was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction. McCormick missed three weeks with his right hamstring strain. The outfielder should get a chance to play, but Houston does have a bit of an outfield jam with Joey Loperfido and Jake Meyers also likely to see time for Houston.
  • NYM Third Baseman #22
Brett Baty is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Guardians.
Baty has really struggled as of late, and the 24-year-old will ride the pine to begin Tuesday’s game with Mark Vientos getting the start. Baty still have long-term appeal, but there’s just as much risk as reward in his profile for the 2024 season.
  • NYM Center Fielder #44
Harrison Bader is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s tilt against the Guardians.
Bader will take a seat on the bench after going 1-for-3 with a double and two strikeouts Monday. The outfielder gets a break with Tyrone Taylor handling center field and hitting fifth.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #15
Emilio Pagán (triceps) will play catch before Tuesday’s game against the Padres.
Pagán underwent imaging and told reporters that his MRI came back “super, super clean.” The right-hander has been dealing with discomfort in his right triceps, and should be considered day-to-day for now.
  • CIN Third Baseman #7
Spencer Steer (ankle) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres.
Steer will miss back-to-back games while dealing with his ankle injury. The 26-year-old will sit with Santiago Espinal at third and Jeimer Candelario again handling duties at first base.
  • MIA Shortstop #59
Marlins optioned INF Tristan Gray to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Gray is booted off the roster to make room for Tim Anderson. Gray could be back with the Marlins at some point this summer, but it’s unlikely he’ll be anything more than a reserve whenever that takes place.
  • MIA Shortstop #7
Marlins activated INF Tim Anderson off the 10-day injured list.
Anderson missed nearly two weeks while dealing with a lower back strain. The 30-year-old has hit just .197/.234/.221 with no homers and three steals in 128 plate appearances, and it’s very possible his days of being a fantasy option have passed. Tristan Gray is back in Jacksonville to make room for Anderson on the roster.
  • PIT Second Baseman #3
Pirates recalled OF Ji Hwan bae from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Bae will start in center field Tuesday against the Giants and hit ninth. The 24-year-old had some flashes of success for Pittsburgh in 2023, but he isn’t likely to contribute in enough categories to be a recommended addition in fantasy circles.
