  • LAD Relief Pitcher #49
Blake Treinen (lung) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Treinen should only require a handful of rehab appearances before he’s ready to make his season debut. The 35-year-old veteran reliever has been out since early March after suffering a bruised lung when he was hit by a comebacker during a spring training contest.
  • PHI Shortstop #7
Trea Turner was forced to leave Friday’s matchup against the Giants due to soreness in his left hamstring.
The speedy 30-year-old shortstop singled, stole a base and raced all the way around from second to score on a wild pitch as Bryce Harper walked in the fifth inning, but it seemed to have taken a toll on his hamstring as he was replaced when the Phillies took the field. The severity of the issue — and whether or not he’ll miss any time — remain unclear. More should be known on his status prior to Saturday’s game against the Giants. All fantasy managers can do now is sit tight and hope for the best.
  • SF Catcher #14
Patrick Bailey was pulled from Friday night’s ballgame against the Phillies due to blurred vision.
Bailey took a foul ball off the face mask during Alec Bohm’s at-bat in the first inning. He’ll presumably go through the full concussion protocol now just to make sure that everything checks out alright. It’s likely that the Giants will need to do some maneuvering on their roster to get an extra catcher in there on Saturday.
  • PHI Shortstop #7
Trea Turner was removed from Friday night’s contest against the Giants in the fifth inning due to an apparent injury.
Uh oh. That’s never what you want to hear. The 30-year-old superstar literally created a run on his own in the bottom of the fourth inning as he smacked a two-out single, stole second base and then raced around to score from second base on walk by Bryce Harper as the ball bounced away from the catcher. It’s possible that he tweaked a hamstring or something while zooming around the bases, but hopefully it’s nothing major. Look for the Phillies to provide an update on his status shortly.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #28
Bobby Miller (shoulder) threw a successful bullpen session on Friday.
The 25-year-old hurler will likely repeat the process another time or two before facing live hitters, but he’s trending in the right direction. Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts noted that Miller should be able to ramp up quickly once he’s ready to face live hitters, so take that for what it’s worth.
  • WAS Outfielder #30
Jacob Young was pulled from Friday’s showdown against the Blue Jays in the fifth inning due to an apparent injury.
No word yet on what happened to the 24-year-old speedster, but he was replaced by Jesse Winker when the Nationals took the field to start the fifth inning. Prior to exiting, Young had been 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Look for the team to provide an update on his status shortly.
  • SF Catcher #14
Patrick Bailey was removed from Friday night’s battle against the Phillies in the second inning due to an apparent injury.
It’s not immediately clear what happened, but Bailey took a hard foul ball off of his face mask during the first inning and it could be related. Expect the Giants to provide an update on his status as soon as one becomes available.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #55
Twins recalled LHP Kody Funderburk from Triple-A St. Paul.
The 27-year-old southpaw had just been optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, but he’ll head right back with Brock Stewart (shoulder) landing on the injured list. Funderburk has been terrific in 11 appearances with the Twins this season, registering a 3.38 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 15/5 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #61
Twins placed RHP Brock Stewart on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder tendinitis.
It’s unclear when exactly the injury cropped up for the 32-year-old right-hander, but he’ll be down for at least a couple of weeks while recovering from it. Kody Funderburk once again was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move on Friday to replace him in the Twins’ bullpen.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #47
Marlins recalled RHP Darren McCaughan from Triple-A Jacksonville.
With Bryan Hoeing (hamstring) heading to the injured list, McCaughan will get an opportunity to work out of the Marlins’ bullpen. The 28-year-old hurler was struggling during his time at Triple-A Jacksonville, posting a troublesome 6.14 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a 22/8 K/BB ratio over 22 innings of work. He’ll work in the middle innings for the Marlins.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #78
Marlins placed RHP Bryan Hoeing on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 2, with a left hamstring strain.
No word from the Marlins yet on how severe the strain is or how long Hoeing may be shelved for. Darren McCaughan was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move to take his place in the Marlins’ bullpen.
