  • SD Shortstop #5
Eguy Rosario hit a solo homer in a loss Saturday to the Phillies.
Rosario apparently doesn’t have a thing for history, as his solo homer ended a 32 2/3 inning scoreless streak for Ranger Suárez. Rosario has gone deep three times with six RBI in limited playing time, and he’s slugging a rather healthy .605. The 24-year-old is definitely a name to keep a close eye on over the coming weeks.
  • WAS Center Fielder #50
Nationals OF prospect James Wood homered twice on Saturday for Triple-A Rochester.
Unreal. If there’s a big takeaway from Wood’s second multi-homer performance in less than a week, it’s that the future is bright in Washington. The 21-year-old top prospect has made significant strides in terms of shortening his swing to make contact and cut back on strikeouts. He’s on an absolute heater right now with five round-trippers in his last four contests. It’s unclear how much incentive there is for the Nationals to promote him to the majors at the moment, but he’s building a compelling case.
  • OAK Right Fielder #33
JJ Bleday clobbered a two-run homer on Saturday, propelling the Athletics to an 8-1 blowout win over the Mariners.
Bleday didn’t go deep until the final frame when the Athletics were already by a comfortable margin, but fantasy managers certainly won’t complain. The 26-year-old outfielder has five homers in 41 contests so far and appears poised to continue playing everyday for Oakland until further notice.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Cal Raleigh slugged his 10th home run of the season on Saturday in the Mariners’ loss to the Athletics.
Raleigh went deep for the first time since walloping a pinch-hit grand slam earlier this week against the Twins, taking Athletics rookie Joey Estes deep to right-center field in the second inning. The 27-year-old switch-hitting backstop doesn’t offer much in the batting average department, but he’s hitting for a ton of over-the-fence pop right now.
  • OAK Starting Pitcher #68
Joey Estes struck out five and allowed one run over five innings on Saturday in a win over the Mariners.
Estes was magnificent in his season debut, holding Seattle’s offense to just a second-inning homer by slugging backstop Cal Raleigh over five frames. The 22-year-old righty was hit hard in a pair of late-season starts last year for Oakland, and held an ERA north of six this year at Triple-A Las Vegas prior to his latest call-up, so we’re going to wait a bit before recommending him as a reliable fantasy option. However, this was an encouraging outing. He’ll look to keep the momentum going on Thursday when he faces the Astros, assuming the Athletics are going to give him another turn in the rotation.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller recorded nine strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings in a loss to the Athletics.
Miller deserved a better fate in this one as he generated an eye-popping 17 swinging strikes, including six on his splitter alone, and finished with a strong 34 percent CSW. The 25-year-old righty has quietly taken a significant step forward this season, increasing his strikeout rate to 27.9 percent, while allowing two earned runs or fewer in six of his eight outings so far. He’ll bring a stellar 2.66 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 51/15 K/BB ratio across 47 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tough road tilt on Friday against the Orioles.
  • LAA Left Fielder #7
Jo Adell walloped a three-run homer on Saturday, leading the Angels to a decisive 9-3 victory over the Royals.
Adell homered for the second consecutive contest against Kansas City, taking ace Cole Ragans deep for a 419-foot no-doubter to left field in the second inning. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season and third time he’s gone deep in his last four games. The 25-year-old former top prospect appears to be finally putting it all together at the highest level as vastly improved plate discipline has helped him unlock his immense raw potential. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this point.
  • KC Shortstop #7
Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also stole two bases on Saturday in the Royals’ loss to the Angels.
Witt was one of the few bright spots for Kansas City during Saturday’s one-sided affair in Los Angeles, recording his second double-digit steal effort of the year. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar is already up to five homers and 15 steals in just 178 plate appearances over 41 games. He seems poised to easily eclipse the 50-steal mark in just his third season at the major league level.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #31
Tyler Anderson yielded three runs over 6 2/3 innings on Saturday in a win over the Royals.
Anderson coughed up an RBI double to Salvador Perez in the opening frame, but managed to limit Kansas City’s lineup to just a pair of late runs in the sixth and seventh innings, respctively, over the remainder of his outing. He struck out four and only issued one walk. The 34-year-old southpaw has exceeded expectations so far, posting a solid 2.92 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 36/19 K/BB ratio across 49 1/3 innings (eight starts). He’ll face the division-rival Rangers on Friday in his next outing.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Cole Ragans was torched for seven runs over 6 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Angels.
The final line isn’t pretty, but it looks worse than it probably should as Ragans was charged with two additional runs following his exit from the contest when Nick Anderson allowed both inherited runners to cross the plate. A three-run homer by Jo Adell in the second inning was responsible for most of the damage against him in this one. The 26-year-old lefty notched only three strikeouts and issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 57/16 K/BB ratio across 49 innings (nine starts) into a favorable home matchup on Friday against the Athletics.
  • LAD Left Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernández slugged a grand slam on Saturday, lifting the Dodgers to a 5-0 victory over the Padres.
Hernández continues to make a significant impact in his Los Angeles debut. The 31-year-old lefty-mashing corner outfielder gave the Dodgers a commanding five-run advantage in the sixth inning by taking Padres reliever Enyel De Los Santos deep to left field for his 11th round-tripper of the season. He’s never going to be a standout in the batting average department at this stage of his career, but he’s continuing to hit for a ton of power and has been a run-producing machine in the heart of the Dodgers’ loaded lineup.
