  • NYM First Baseman #20
Pete Alonso went 2-for-5 with a homer, double, and three RBI in the Mets’ win over the Cardinals on Tuesday night.
Alonso broke out in a big way against Miles Mikolas and the Cardinals after a 2-for-44 lull. His two-run double gave the Mets the lead and his eighth inning homer added a valuable insurance run as Adam Ottavino ran into trouble in the ninth. All three of the balls Alonso put in play were hit over 105 MPH exit velocity.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #23
Michael Lorenzen allowed two runs on three hits in 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.
Lorenzen had allowed just two hits in six shutout innings before allowing a lead-off double and a walk to start the seventh. He was able to strike out his last batter, so he left the Rangers with first and second and one out. The Angels would score four runs in that inning with two of them being charged to Lorenzen. The right-hander posted a solid 21 percent whiff rate and mediocre 24 percent CSW while allowing an average exit velocity of just 76 mph. He deserved better and will hope for more help next week against the Twins.
  • PHI Third Baseman #28
Alec Bohm had a three-run homer and two sac flies to lead the Phillies to an 11-5 win over the Nationals on Sunday.
Bohm has had four six-RBI games in his career, including one last month, but this is the first time he’s finished with exactly five. He’s now the major league leader with 42 RBI, giving him one more than Marcell Ozuna and José Ramírez. With a .330/.389/.528 line in 47 games, he’s on track to make his All-Star debut this summer.
  • HOU Left Fielder #30
Kyle Tucker went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a 9-4 win over the Brewers.
Tucker did strike out in his other three at-bats, but let’s not dampen the day. The 27-year-old blasted a 390-foot home run at 107 mph in the sixth inning and then followed that up with a 99.2 mph home run in the seventh. He’s now up to 15 home runs on the season with 33 RBI and remains one of the better fantasy baseball players in the league.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #27
Aaron Nola lasted seven innings and allowed three runs Sunday in beating the Nationals.
A strong followup to his shutout of the Mets. Nola gave up just two hits, which were homers to Eddie Rosario and Jesse Winker. He’s completed seven innings in five of his last seven starts, and he’s 6-2 with a 3.05 ERA for the season.
  • WAS Starting Pitcher #32
Trevor Williams yielded three runs in 4 1/3 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Phillies.
Williams still hasn’t given up more than three runs in a game this season, though the quick hooks help there; he’s gotten a total of five outs beyond the fifth inning in his nine starts. Williams will eventually start giving up homers again. He topped the NL in allowing 15 in 55 innings in 2020 and 34 in 144 innings last season, yet he’s somehow gave up only one in 46 innings this year.
  • PHI Second Baseman #2
Kody Clemens doubled twice and knocked in two runs against the Nationals on Sunday.
Clemens has nine hits in 11 appearances for the Phillies and seven have gone for extra bases, giving an .821 slugging percentage to go along with his .321 average. Nothing much in his past suggests he’ll be keeping this up, but the Phillies might as well pencil him into the lineup against righties for now. He might even be a mixed-league option with the Phillies playing in Coors next weekend.
  • HOU Center Fielder #6
Jake Meyers went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a win over the Brewers on Sunday.
Meyers has been solid since coming back form injury and is now slashing .302/.368/.522 on the season. Even with Chas McCormick coming off the IL soon, there’s no guarantee that Meyers will be pushed to the bench. He plays good defense in center field and has been performing better than McCormick so far in the young season. The outfield could be a bit of a logjam in the future for the Astros.
  • MIL Second Baseman #2
Brice Turang went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and a steal in a loss to the Astros.
Turang had five solid at-bats on Sunday with two hard-hit outs as well. The 24-year-old is now up to 18 stolen bases on the year and has seen an uptick in fantasy value as he’s been leading off for Milwaukee. So far he’s been one of the better waiver wire claims of the year and there’s no reason to believe that will change any time soon.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #41
Spencer Arrighetti allowed four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings in a win over the Brewers.
Arrighetti struck out six and walked two on the day. The 24-year-old had allowed one run on five hits through six innings but the Astros brought him out for the seventh and he allowed three hits and one walk to start the inning before the bullpen was called on. Three of those runners would come around to score and drastically change his statline. The rookie sports a 7.16 ERA on the year and likely won’t have many more starts with Jose Urquidy coming off the IL soon. However, Arrighetti could be a streamer next week against the Athletics.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #48
Colin Rea allowed five runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Astros.
Things got off to a rough start for Rea, who allowed four runs on three hits in the first inning. He settled down for three innings after that, allowing three hits but no runs before running out of steam in the fifth. He posted a 19 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW on the day and now sports a 4.07 ERA on the year. He’s a risky start next week in Boston.
