  • CWS Left Fielder #74
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters Thursday that Eloy Jiménez (hamstring) is likely to miss 4-6 weeks.
It sounds like Jiménez is going to miss at least one month, if not longer, due to a left hamstring strain that he suffered earlier this week. The 27-year-old hasn’t gotten going at the dish this season after a strong spring training performance, posting a lackluster .668 OPS with five homers in 146 plate appearances. He can be safely dropped in all re-draft fantasy formats at this juncture.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #39
Miles Mikolas allowed one earned run across 6 ⅔ on Sunday in a 2-1 win over the Cubs. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter.
Mikolas cruised against the scuffling Cubs on Sunday. The only run on his ledger was an inherited runner that came around after he was yanked and had a fantastic start overall. His command was fantastic as he mixed his four-seamer and sinker evenly keeping the ball off the Cubs’ hitters’ barrels.
  • WAS Relief Pitcher #67
Kyle Finnegan threw a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Sunday.
The save was Finnegan’s 20th of the season. He’s only blown two save opportunities so far this season and lowered his ERA to 1.78. Finnegan has come out of nowhere to be one of the best closers in fantasy this year.
  • MIA Second Baseman #2
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Nationals on Sunday.
It was a quiet day for the Marlins offense as they could only muster one run against Washington. Chisholm’s single in the fifth inning temporarily tied the game at one. He’s hitting .260 with a .762 OPS and 34 RBI this year.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #56
Ryan Helsley closed out the Cubs on Sunday. He struck out one, walked two, and stranded both runners on base.
Helsely got into some trouble in the ninth inning and was bailed out by Brendan Donovan who made a catch crashing into the ivy at Wrigley Field to end the game. Helsley is fully back to being one of the best closers in baseball after an injury-marred 2023 season.
  • WAS Outfielder #30
Jacob Young went 2-for-3 with a solo home run against the Marlins on Sunday.
It was Young’s first home run in his two-year career. His fantasy utility comes purely from his speed on the bases. Young has 17 steals in 60 games with the Nationals this year.
  • CHC Left Fielder #8
Ian Happ went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, run scored, and stolen base on Sunday against the Cardinals.
Happ, like the rest of the Cubs, has not been hitting his best of late. He ignited both of their mini rallies in this one, scoring their only run and making Ryan Helsley sweat in the ninth inning. Hopefully this can jump start a hot streak in what’s been a mediocre season.
  • WAS Center Fielder #28
Lane Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Marlins on Sunday.
It’s Thomas’ third consecutive game with a home run. He now has seven total on the year. Thomas has been hot over his last 10 games going 10-for-37 (.351) to bring his season average to .238. He stole 11 bases in 22 games in April, but has just five steals in 20 games since.
  • STL Catcher #43
Pedro Pagés went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and walk in the Cardinals win over the Cubs on Sunday.
Pagés is your run-of-the-mill backup catcher who’s getting an opportunity to mix in for St. Louis with the injury to Willson Contreras. He doesn’t play enough to be fantasy relevant despite some solid numbers in the upper minors.
  • WAS Starting Pitcher #70
Mitchell Parker allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Nationals’ 3-1 victory over the Marlins on Sunday.
Parker gave up six hits, walked none and struck out three. The win was his fifth of the year. It was also Parker’s fifth quality start in 12 starts this year. His ERA is 3.06 on the year despite a 4.02 xFIP. Parker does everything well except get a lot of strikeouts. He has a 42 percent ground ball percentage. Parker’s allowed 0.80 HR/9 and 2.00 BB/9. He’s doing everything he can to prop up an 18 percent strikeout percentage, which gives him a fragile profile. The 24-year-old left-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next week.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #50
Jameson Taillon worked six solid innings on Sunday against the Cardinals allowing just two earned runs. He scattered seven hits, walked two, and struck out three in a loss.
The Cardinals made plenty of hard contact off Taillon who kept finding ways to wiggle out of jams and keep runs off the board. He’s put together a solid season despite routinely low strikeout totals by mixing his five pitches and avoiding free passes. He’ll take a 3.08 ERA into his next start against the Mets.
