Ranger Suárez allowed five runs (four earned) on three hits in six innings in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.
Suárez struck out nine but also walked four and threw just 42 percent of pitches in the strike zone. He did rack up an impressive 39 percent whiff rate but he had just 12 called strikes on the day, compared to 19 whiffs. Given that this game was in Colorado, we can give Suárez a little bit of a pass; however, he might still be a solid sell-high candidate if a fantasy manager in your league values him as a top 20-25 starting pitcher the rest of the way. He’ll take a 1.75 ERA into a start against the Cardinals next week.
