Bryson Stott is not in the Phillies’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Pirates.
Even coming out of the All-Star break with four consecutive days off, Stott finds himself situated on the bench on Friday night with left-hander Martin Perez toeing the slab for the Pirates. Edmundo Sosa will start in his place at second base and will bat sixth for the Phillies on Friday evening.

Hunter Goodman homered, tripled, doubled and drove in five runs as the Rockies bounced back to defeat the Padres 9-3 on Sunday.
A nice send off for Bud Black, who was let go after the game. Goodman’s homer was his first since Apr. 28, and the triple was his first since 2023. The double, though, might have been the most interesting of his hits. His line drive on Wandy Peralta left the bat at 116.2 mph, a new career high for him by 1.5 mph. It seems like a good sign for his future. However, with six road games coming up, this isn’t the time to pick up Goodman in fantasy leagues.
Reds, Greene 'avoid disaster' with groin strain
James Schiano explains how the Cincinnati Reds and pitcher Hunter Greene avoided disaster with his groin strain considering his history of arm injuries, and why fantasy managers should look to get him for cheap.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #48
Germán Márquez pitched seven innings of one-run ball to defeat the Padres and pick up his first victory of the season Sunday.
Márquez was 0-6 with a 9.90 ERA before turning back the clock today. He finished with just two strikeouts and five whiffs, but the Padres managed only three hits off him. It’s probably not a performance he’s going to repeat going forward. He’ll face the Diamondbacks next.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #27
Nick Pivetta gave up six runs in four innings Sunday in a loss to the Rockies.
Pivetta seems like an improved pitcher, but Coors Field remains a nightmare for him. His four career starts there have all resulted in losses, with the right-hander allowing 27 earned runs over 14 innings. He should be much more comfortable in a home start against the Mariners next weekend.
  • SD 2nd Baseman #4
Luis Arraez grounded out all four times up against the Rockies on Sunday.
No hard-hit balls from Arraez today. Of course, exit velocity has never been a strong suit of his, but he maintained a 30% hard-hit rate from 2020-22. Since then, he’s fallen to 25% in 2023, 23% last year and 18% so far this season. He’s making more contact than ever this season, but since so much of it is weak, he’s sporting a .289/.329/.415 line that, while perfectly fine, doesn’t measure up to his best work.
  • COL Manager
The Rockies announced after Sunday’s victory over the Padres that manager Bud Black and bench coach Mike Redmond have been relieved of their duties.
The Rockies have played terrible baseball so far and own a league-worst 7-33 record, so the move is definitely justified, though it would have made much more sense after Saturday night’s shellacking at the hand of the Padres. Third base coach Warren Schaeffer will take over as the team’s interim manager for the duration of the 2025 season while Clint Hurdle will function as the team’s interim bench coach.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #39
Andrew Kittredge (knee) fired a scoreless inning in his latest minor league rehab outing at Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
The 35-year-old right-hander threw nine pitches in the outing, all of them strikes, while allowing a pair of hits and striking out a batter. That was his third appearances on his minor league rehab assignment. There has been no clear timeline on how many outings he’ll require before he’s ready to join the Orioles’ bullpen, but it sounds like he’s getting close.
  • TOR Catcher #30
Alejandro Kirk was removed from Sunday’s game against the Mariners after being hit in the back of the mask on a back swing.
Kirk finished out the inning, but it sounds like after consulting with the training staff the Jays decided to take the cautious approach and give him the rest of the afternoon off. He’ll presumably be put through the concussion protocol just to make sure that he checks all the boxes before returning to action. Tyler Heineman replaced him behind the dish on Sunday and would be in line for more action if Kirk is forced to miss any additional time.
  • SF Center Fielder #17
Heliot Ramos went 2-for-2 with a walk, hit by pitch, two-run home run and four RBI against the Twins on Sunday.
Ramos started the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and extended the Giants’ lead over the Twins to 3-0 with a two-run home run off Pablo Lopez in the fourth inning. The Giants blew that lead and Ramos tied the game at five with an RBI single in the eighth inning before the Giants ultimately lost in extra innings. Ramos is hitting .278 with 19 RBI and an .830 OPS on the season.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #65
Landen Roupp allowed three runs in five innings and got a no-decision against the Twins on Sunday.
Roupp gave up six hits, walked none and struck out three. He left the game with a 4-3 lead, but it wasn’t one the Giants would hold as they lost to the Twins in extra innings 7-6. Roupp has struggled to work deep into games so far this season, but fantasy managers should be patient with the 26-year-old right-hander. It appears he’s pitched better than his 4.95 ERA this year as his xFIP is 3.59. Roupp is lined up to start again next weekend against the Athletics at home.
  • MIN Shortstop #2
Brooks Lee went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a two-run home run against the Giants on Sunday.
Lee moved over to shortstop for Sunday’s with Carlos Correa scratched from the lineup. The 24-year-old infielder was a big part of the Twins’ comeback victory against the Giants on Sunday. Lee’s two-run home run in the fourth inning cut the Twins deficit to 3-2 and he scored the winning run in extra innings. Lee is hitting .253 with nine RBI and a .703 OPS on the season.
